So, I’ve talked about Nara and now I’ll be showing stuff from Osaka and Kyoto. Osaka has been known as a merchant city which makes shopping and eating here an experience in itself. We also went to Universal Studios in Osaka! The highlight of the day for me would be a place that would be pretty familiar to a lot of people. Afterwards, we got on the Shinkansen to head towards Kyoto. The Shinkansen cut our travel time by half. The train goes really fast and yet you won’t really feel it while you’re inside. Kyoto was the imperial capital of Japan for more than a thousand years and to this day, their inhabitants believe they are the true capital of Japan. Kyoto was one of the cities spared from aerial bombing in WW2 which is why a lot of its ancient structures are still around. We visited the Kiyomizu-dera, a temple founded in 778 with its present buildings built in 1633. It’s significant to note that the building in the last picture is built completely from wood and not a single nail was used in its creation. It’s basically built like a jigsaw puzzle. Also, it’s much prettier to visit Kyoto during Spring when all the sakura are blooming or in autumn when the trees take shades of red, orange and yellow. (Much cooler too. It was blistering hot when we visited.) So that’s it for today!
I loved it then and when I went there, I loved it even more. everyone is incredibly polite and accomodating. Everything's just so organized and they all help each other out.
Silly man. They have big flat screen tvs now. Crawling is not necessary. ? she just hops out this time.
No and yes. I have a thread about Nara somewhere there. Thanks! I thought it would be an exaggeration but when I tasted ramen in Osaka, I was really blown away. So yes, ramen is pretty good in Japan.
Did you buy anything interesting or cool? What's the weirdist thing you've seen or eaten there? Just curious ??
