JAPAN [Hakone - Fuji]

  1. Now, we’re headed to Hakone!

Hakone is known for its hot springs but we didn’t head there this time. We headed instead to …

It’s a crater lake with lots of scenic views. (AKA trees, trees and more trees.) They ferry you over in style though!

Now, to translate “Shiver me timbers.” into Japanese.

To be honest, there wasn’t much. I mean, it’s a lake. There’s only so much you can see besides the shrine in the distance and pretty, fluffy trees. (Trees where I am aren’t very fluffy.) I imagine everything much prettier in a different season though!

But the real reason we got on the ferry was to get ourselves much closer to …

The famed volcano with its snow capped peak! Well, it wasn’t snow capped this time but we were lucky enough to see it on a clear day! Do you remember me saying how polite the Japanese are? Well, even their clouds are polite. We got there with this big cloud covering half of it and in 15 minutes, well.

Cloud: ”I’ll just …go over here.”

Mt.Fuji is Japan’s highest peak at 3,776 m (12,388 ft) and the 35th highest peak in the world. It’s been the subject for a lot of inspiration by Japanese artists and poets. It’s kinda surreal being on something like that and thinking “Wow, imagine all of the things its seen.”

On another note, they got horses you can ride.

But not for free, of course. ?

  2. omg  The Fuji pictures are beautiful!

  3. These pictures are making me want to go back already :p

My Mount Fuji day trip was one of my favourite experiences when I was there. If I went again I'd definitely spend the night in Hakone though.

  4. You should go to Montenegro. It has nothing but beauty.

  5. Post pictures of your foods next time OP. :)
