Invisible I stand there, watching you. I'm right next to you and you don't even bother to look at me. I just want you to look at me. To notice me. To even look down at me and realize that I've been here this whole time. But you don't. I'm that small girl you see never see in class. Not because she skips, but because she is quiet. The one that never talks. Not because she's mute, but because she's afraid to say the wrong thing. The one who likes to hide when she's looked at. Not because she's afraid of people, but because she doesn't want anyone to stare when you see her. But for once, I want you to notice me. Realize that even if I'm only five foot, I'm here. When you look in that yearbook, you wonder, "Who is that girl?" when you see me. When you see my name, you don't know that it's me. But I've been here, waiting for to say hi. For you to call my name. You finally look down from the mountains you are in. You are over six foot, making me strain my neck just to see your hair-covered eyes. "Oh, I didn't realize that you where there! I'm sorry," you say. You look at me blankly, like I am just a space in the air. "It's fine," I whisper, you probably not hearing it. You finally look back to your friends, who are staring at you like they thought you spaced out. "Who we're you talking to?" one of your friends asks. "Some short girl. I think she's a midget," you laugh. Everyone laughs with you. I stand there, uncomfortable. You barely even glanced at me. But, I don't care now. I know what you think of me. You think that I am invisible.
