I don't want to fall asleep..

  1. ...because I don't want to lose and forget this giddiness!

But well, since you guys are here already, you might as well read my late-night babbles about what's making me so chipper!

Okay so, as some of you may know, I started an internship last January, and just finished it two weeks ago. Best birthday present I ever got myself, btw. The people I met there were all so wonderful, and I could write essays upon essays for each of them!

But in particular, I've always looked up to my supervisor, Stewart. Now, Stewart was a bit of an awkward guy. Shy and introverted, but still able to joke around. I saw a lot of myself in him. Plus all his interactions with our other coworkers always made me laugh like a whale

In one of our one-on-one interviews, we had a chat and realized that we had a few things in common: We came from the same high school (different branch) and we pursued further studies in the same city.

But at the same time, his education life was the opposite of mine. He graduated HS late, I graduated early. He took a degree he hated, I loved mine to death. His education had so many pitstops, while mine felt like driving on those acceleration arrow tiles on Mario Kart.

But the thing that amazed me out of all, despite spending 25 years not knowing what he loved, he never succumbed to a forced life. He set aside his degree, and started afresh learning how to program. Within two years of self-study and freelance work, he became so good at his job, that our company seeked him out.

And let me tell you, this guy's tenacity to learn, and his speed at getting jobs done, was mind blowing. What would've taken three interns, who spent four years in formal study of that major, a whole week to do, he finished in less than two days.

Meeting him has been the biggest slap to my ego, and yet it has only given me hope for humanity.

And this guy doesn't even know how much his life story impacted my ignorant mind, because I'm too much of an awkward turtle to do so.

So today, I decided to send some food to the office, as a big thank you for taking care of me for the past three months.

Got a text back from our intern group chat. "Stewart is confused and doesn't know how to thank you "

GUYS! This guy is the one person I've been striving to impress in that company. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW TOUCHED AND HAPPY AND EXCITED I WAS TO KNOW THAT HE APPRECIATES ME actually it was my food he appreciated but shhhh AND THAT HE AND THE OFFICE WAS DELIGHTED TO SEE MY SURPRISE?

EVEN MORE: "Stewart says to pass on a thank you to you."

OH MY GOD. IS THIS WHAT ITS LIKE TO HAVE SENPAI (NON ROMANTICALLY) NOTICE ME???

Anyway I just wanted to share this because I'm still so glad I decided to coordinate that surprise with my friend. It was making me anxious because I was scared that they wouldn't like the surprise but THEY DIDDD

Share some moments in your life that made you really excited, ty.
