  1. How to Write a Successful Thread
Hello PimD! Today I have a thread about writing a successful thread.

Upon joining, I have seen a lot of extremely short, unuseful threads. This is why I am writing this!

If you see words that are blue, that means it is a new section.

Please sit back, and enjoy the thread!

    Sections:
    •Introduction
    •People Want… Excitement
    •Grammar
    •Humor
    •Structure
    •Reeling in the Fish
    •Main Idea
    •Body
    •Conclusion
    •Final Words

    Introduction
Welcome to the guide for PimD thread writing! I will supply you with the tools and tips to create a great thread, but you will need to supply the kick-butt action.
It will take a long time and a lot of patience, but eventually you will understand.
In this thread we will discuss things such as technique, humor, and the thing everyone loves, grammar. ;-) Trust me, you'll thank me.

    People Want… Excitement
If you target your threads at specific people or things that relate to them, you will end up getting more replies, and then you'll be glad you are reading this thread. Overall though, if people are bored, they will read anything that has "proper" grammar. This is why it is so important.

    Grammar
One of the most important things in a great thread is grammar. If you wen't to a good school, you should know some grammar (at least a little) and if you are still in Elementary-Middle School, please make sure to study your spelling list for the week. It will help.

    Humor
A lot of people think that the next most important thing after grammar is humor. This is true, but you should make sure it is relevant to what you are writing, and to who you are writing it to. Sure, I could say:

Why did the chicken cross the road?

To get to the other side!

but it wouldn't be relevant to this thread, now would it? People would get confused. That is bad. You do not want that.

I don't tend to use riddles most of the time, because they waste so much of the readers time. I use either hidden jokes or funny words for my humor.
Please, leave your humor techniques below for others to use! :)

    Structure
Structure is a good thing to take a lot of time on. It shows that you are passionate about your thread and REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want people to read it. If you don't have structure (i.e. sentence, paragraph) then it will be tiring to read your thread. Make sure you get the structure right.

    Reeling in the Fish
One of the easiest mistakes to make and the most common way to make a person leave your thread is by not reeling them in. That means that they are not intrigued in your thread. This is a problem.
Take a while to think about your introductions. Have you ever done a presentation to your class? What did you say at the beginning to make them want to read it?
If it is a fan fic story (easiest example) then maybe you would start with:

    In the deep dark forest.

    Or…

    I'M A SPARKLY UNICORN!

Those are examples of how to make the reader wonder what will happen next. Don't start with:

    Once upon a time…

That's boring. Jazz it up. Make it sparkle. Make the person that is sitti.g next to you on the plane to ALASKA want to read it, instead of going dog sledding. That's how much I want you to think about your intro.

    Main Idea
You should have the main idea of your thread in your head before you write. It should be exciting, and something people would want to read. Make sure you mention your main idea in your thread somewhere (even the title, which is very important as well) so that your readers don't get confused. If you read over your thread again and it doesn't make sense, you are most likely forgetting your main idea or something else.

    Body
Your body of your thread should include 3-5 paragraphs (or more). Each thread should be very detailed, so your readers can understand your idea. Be sure to prove your point and back it up with a lot of facts.
Make sure to indent every paragraph, and each paragraph should be about 5 sentences. You never want the reader to get bored while reading your thread, so make sure to include many details. The body is an intricate part of your thread.

    Conclusion
This part of your thread isn't as important as the rest. This is where you wind down the topic and ask for anything that you may need. Be sure to add a please.

    Final Words
I just wanted to share a few final words with you before my phone battery dies. Do not, and I repeat soldier, do NOT ask for things such as money, trades, etc.
This gets annoying and your thread will just get locked. Please be sure to only post a thread if you are sure it is the 100% best quality work you could ever do.

    Good night, everyone.

  2. Thank you <3

  3. I think this guide has already been made before. But good job, pretty well-written.

  6. Studying a spelling list wouldn't help with grammar as spelling and grammar are 2 different things. Lol

  7. Studying a spelling list wouldn't help with grammar as spelling and grammar are 2 different things. Lol

  8. Is it just me or is his grammar really bad?

  9. My creativity shits on the quality of all them threads but I'm too lazy to make threads.

    Alrighty guide tho

  10. Op you lie. I got bored after reading first line.

    It's just you.

  12. He uses way too many periods. Commas are used if the sentence has the same subject as the previous sentence. And I think I've seen this guide word for word somewhere else.

  13. ^ probably on KAW - op is from KAW.

  14. Just read the guide more carefully.  I don't think a thread has to be at least 3-5 paragraphs… some amazing threads aren't even one paragraph. Also, if a thread is too long, it can get boring and people won't read it.

For the fan fiction thing — it's not very relevant to active topics. And personally, I don't think once upon a time is all that bad. As for the indenting part, it won't show up on forums so why bother indenting?

  15. Yeah, if a woman is wearing a long ass skirt, there's nothing interesting to see.

  16. If you guys hate the thread so much, go make your own.

  17. I suddenly respect this guy

  18. I don't hate it, I think it's a good guide. I just think some parts could be improved.

  19. I mean, honestly, you are just wasting time pointing out things I can't fix, because i'm on mobile.

  20. If you are in elementary school, close this app, and throw your phone off a cliff
