Anyone here who rides horses saddleseat? I did it awhile ago and am picking it back up. Any tips? I know each horse is unique. But still... A little info about the horse: Her name is Sweet Southern Candace Belle. Aka Bella Bella is high strung and once I canter on her it's next to impossible to keep her at a walk. But the upsides are: I can canter bare back cuz she moves so smoothly and I look great on her. So any tips?
I figure you're riding English. I did both for a while but only did dressage so... I guess the bare essentials... Firm grip with the reins since you said she doesn't want to listen when you need to slow down. Maybe shorten the reins so you have greater control? And even more so, remember to control with your legs and thighs since you will be using the saddle... uhh... That's too basic isn't it
Ya....a. I've been riding for five years this winter. English for 4 1/2. I did carting for about six months and saddleseat is somewhere in there.
Sorry I can't be much help. I unfortunately haven't been able to ride for a few years now. It's hard to find the money and time to devote to riding. Especially the money
and also, I only did dressage for a little bit. That was the only English riding I did. Besides a little jumping (but I wasn't really being taught that). But good luck I'm sure you'll do fine.
Awh it's ok and I understand. The barn where I ride is cheaper and teaches more than just how to ride. I had to start working for my lessons a couple months ago. Here's the picture I was gonna put up with my first post but forgot.
._. I have a pony at the stable at the beach. It's name is Brownie. It's reserved for me, and me only. >:L
Awh lol. There was a horse named Koquya who thought he was mine. But Tori broke her promise and sold him. Now I cry myself to sleep
I've only fallen off once and that was because my horse was only wearing a harness (no bit) so I basically had no control over her. When she started galloping she ran me into some trees and I tumbled off, rolling and landing on my feet oddly enough. Didn't hurt a bit but shook me. I have seen riders take some nasty tumbles though. Keep your helmet on at all times. Even with them I've seen people being thrown over jumps and getting mild concussions. I wish I had been able to continue working at the stable but it was a long drive and I had to pay for everything myself. Once the bills added up it unfortunately was the first thing that had to go I hope one day I can go back to it, maybe more casually since I'm older now.
Damn that girl named Tori. I'm sorry Fox, Imm sure he'll remember you forever. Horses are very loyal. >:L That's why my brownie kicks me off him when I sit on his back. Pony too pudgy. =_=
Be careful. Tuck and roll Silly but true. And yes, ride for me please. I've been dying to go lately but I need to find a stable near where I live.
Tucking and rolling... Something I had to learn. Aka falling over Koquyas head on purpose! Chloe so was mine
