  1. Ok so i got this question from my school and they said i must answer

    Ok heres the question..

Does / Can Water go bad or have an expiry date?

Please help me find the answer

  2. I dont believe so

  3. Yes it can. If it is for example left in a place w/o movement for a long time in open air. Bacteries will form.

  4. Yes, the ones you buy in bottles have one.

And boiled water has an expiry date, it'll taste different after some time but still consumable till the world ends.
So long it's not contaminated or with viruses in it it's ok

  5. So will fungi form and the water is undrinkable? But what if its in a bottle?

  6. So long there's a vacuum, bacteria cannot grow in the air. Or keeping it in a sterile place should slow down bacteria growth.

  7. So long the bottle isn't open it is safe. There is an expiry date though but it is still drinkable with a slight change I taste.

  8. Bottled water, I thought at some point the plastic starts releasing chemicals into the water thus making it poisonous?

  9. I have no idea what I'm saying

  10. Well I'm not sure about that. More of a myth. And if that does happen I believe the hydrochloric acid in our stomach has enough acidity to kill off the poison.

  11. I study pharmacy, I know in products we make in lab we will only use purified water boiled and cooled within the last 24 hours. If water is kept bacteria can contaminate it as it is not sterilized, even boiling will not sterilize it as it can not eliminate bacterial endospores, which is a resistant/dormant form some bacteria go into. Only way to sterilize is to autoclave something.

  12. im not sure but someone told me this:
If water is left out, in direct sunlight, dont ever drink it, its cancerous

  13. Is it because of the light rays directly into the water? Or other chemically related reason?

  14. Watch out we have a genius over here

  15. If left unmoved, mold can form causing it to go bad. Therefore, water HAS to have an expiry date. I have had personal experiences from this.

  16. Water is continually recycled, it's billions of years old right now. Yes it can harbor contaminants but the molecule H2O does not break down or biodegrade.

  17. Water does not expire, it gets contaminated from outside sources over time. Pure water is just hydrogen and oxygen. Hydrogen and oxygen don't really break down.

  18. ._.

water can go stale, does that help? ._.

  19. Yes it can if left un-moved for a long period.

  20. Well not nessisarily a expiry date though...
