Farming is the fastest way, but at your stats the best way is probably jobs because you can earn more money through them. You should also save up as much money as you can. There's no rush to upgrade though. Just learn the game along your way and before you know it you'll be reaching your goals.
Also, talking to your pupil and getting tips from them is a great way to grow and learn. They're more experienced, and so they'll be able to teach you the best ways of pimd. Also, your pupil's very nice and will help you, so don't be afraid to ask him!
Fastest way at your kcs is parties, when you're about 10kcs start farming If you're active it should probably take a couple weeks
I actually found jobs to be faster, because at those stats you're probably not going to earn max plunder when partying or farming. And for jobs you don't really need to worry about tb yet.
