1. Decide to make a guide. Checking that there isn't one already one about what you want to make is always a good idea but seemingly optional. 2. Add lots of bb codes to make it look pretty. Pray they don't fail (like I expect mine to). 3. Content helps. If you actually know what you're talking about, it's an added bonus but don't let it hold you back. 4. Sit back and wait for lots of appreciative comments after you've posted. 5. Get upset when someone points out that this guide already exists. 6. When you don't get honour student, repeat this process continually until you do/you go nuts in forums and start swearing at ATA about how it's all favouritism blah blah blah
