As me , Moma , and Zevin were on our way home from the hospital I realized I still had on the awful bracelet they put on me when I first checked in. I grabbed it and pulled so hard that I could feel it baring its way into my skin. I screamed from the pain but kept pulling anyway determined to get the thing off. It hurt terribly but I didn't care. What was there to care about ? My dad was away and my mom hardly wanted anything to do with me so why bother? "Stop your going to hurt yourself," Zevin said trying to get me to stop by pulling my hand off the bracelet. "That's the point," I hiss continuing to pull on the bracelet. "Why would you want to hurt yourself? It's not going to help you," he said gazing into my eyes. "I don't care if it don't help me I just want to hurt thats all I've felt my whole life and now your leaving," I murmured. "Hey, don't think like that you've had a really good life," he said continuing to gaze into my eyes. I look towards the window and say"Not if you think about it," and lay my head on the door. "What is there to think about," he said with worry and panic in his voice letting me know that he was really and truly worried about me. "How my mom and dad got divorced and how they both got married with my stepdad and stepmom and how they both got divorced from them and now mom is engaged and dad is married and they have a chocolate lab and a black kitten! How I have to sneak to see my old stepdad and how I hardly get to see my sister since it is my old stepmom kid and how I have to sneak to see my grandmother who my mom is in an argument with and refuses to let us see her! How everyone at school makes fun of me and judge me on how I look and act because I'm different then them when really they don't know me! How guys ask me out as a joke to figure out who I like! Well I don't like anyone from school because they are all stuck up snobs who think they know everything! I only hang around with you because you understand me and listen to me and is nice to me unlike everyone else! Is that enough to say or do I need to go on because I have plenty to say," I scream and start crying realizing how bad my life really was. He hugs me and I continue to cry with no reason to fight back because I knew he understood me and what I was going threw with a family like this. "Plus my little brother lives with my dad and I don't get to see him because he is so popular! My mom hates that I'm a tomboy and trys to change me into a girly girl and I'm getting sick and tired of everyone thinking they know who I am when they don't ! They don't know one thing about me but because I don't talk to them they think I'm this weirdo loser!" I said starting to cry even more. To tell you the truth it felt good having someone to listen to all my problems and understand them and hug me and tell me it's alright. This all reminded me of that dream I had. It was over two weeks ago but I remember the whole thing just like it was yesterday. As we got home and I told Zevin bye I realized that tommorow was Monday. My alarm starting going "Boop! Beep! School!" or at least sounded like school and I groaned and sat up fairly annoyed with it for waking me. I got dressed in a t-shirt and some skinny jeans and put my hair up in a ponytail. I ran downstairs, grabbed my backpack, got a piece of bacon , stuffed it in my mouth and ran to the car just as my mom had her hand over the steering wheel about to honk at me to hurry. I held up my hand in a stop motion and nodded my head and ran over and got in the passengers side. I sat my backpack down and enjoyed my bacon listening happily to my favorite song "Glad You Came" by the wanted. Soon we were at the school. I groaned and opened the door and yelled" By love you!" and slammed the door and ran to the front steps of the school. I heard a voice yelling behind me"Hey Maddie! Wait up!" and I started walking faster. I knew who that was. It was the captain of the football team. He tries to talk to me even though he knows I don't talk to anyone at school. I start running faster and disappear in a random door I found. I opened it and ran in ducking behind a desk in the back of the room where it was completely dark. I starting silently breathing so that he couldn't find me so no one could find me. I look around and notice it is an old classroom with lots of cool technology in it. It had a microwave, a fridge, a computer , a tv, and a phone. It had three regular school desks plus the big one I was under. I couldn't tell what the wall had on them because it was so dark. There was also a rolling chair that was red and was made of leather. I slowly and carefully grabbed the chair and quickly rolled it over to me. I more than happily sat down in it and sighed. "Who's there !" I hear someone yell and I quickly ducked under the desk again and pushed the chair back. Probally not my smartest move. Whoever it was was getting closer by the minute. I breathed slowly still freaked out. I could hear the footsteps getting closer until they were right by the desk. "I have a gun and I'm not afraid to use it," the person yelled. I quickly hopped up and held my hands up in surrender. "Please, don't shoot me I was just hiding and.....," I was cut off by laughing. "Why are you laughing?!?!" I demanded. "Maddie, if I knew it was you I wouldn't have even threatened with the gun. Thad when I recognized who it was. I could tell that it was Zevin or Anubis. Ughh! Why did they have to combine like that stupid magic mixed my feelings more then before! "I thought I had ditched you," I hissed ready to attack at any moment. "Haha! You just left me at my house walking on my own I was going to find you one way or another," he said shrugging or at least I think he did it was still pretty dark in here. "Well you did! Now what ? I don't want to here no crap about you apologizing and all that mess," I say getting agitated. "Well I was going to find you and tell you that I will be moving in a month and why would I apologize for me still living? I thought you wanted that," he said with a mixture of anger and sadness in his voice. "I thought I did but I didn't know that it ment having Abubis inside you," I yell really angry now. I grab the chair and sit knowing this would take awhile. "Yes and I apologize for not telling you how I was to live with that curse. I still like you no matter what. Nothing has changed me and nothing ever will," he said with a little hint of sadness in his voice. "Yeah but you still did all this even after you knew about my parents and what was going on in my life that made me want to scream but you still go on and do this!," I yell getting angrier by the moment. "Yes I know but it's ok I will help you through all of these family problems and any other problems you have," he said real sincerely. "Yeah I bet," I murmur and quietly lay my head down about to cry. "Shhh. Don't cry! It will be ok you don't need to worry about any of those things," he said quickly coming over to me and wrapping his arms around my shoulders. I push him off and say "School is about to start," real quietly and walk out. I couldn't deal with this today. I wish I could just forget about my powers but I knew I couldn't . I went to my locker then to my first period class remembering that he had every class with me. "Great!" I thought and walked in to find him in there already smirking at me from his seat behind me. "Hey Maddie," he said full of excitement. "Shut up and don't call me Maddie," I hiss and sit down in my seat. "Maddie really, what is wrong why are you so mad would you rather have me here or dead? It was my only choice but trust me nothing will ever change. Me and Anubis both agreed on this because we had the same feelings for you," he said really apologetically. "Yeah I bet you did," I said sarcastically. I still couldn't get it through my mind that they used magic to combine themselves because I remember the day he told me what I thought was a dream was real. "We did," he said real enthusiastically. "You shut up to Abubis," I scream. Everyone looks at me and at last one girl decides to break the silence and says"Who is Anubis? That's Zevin!" "I-I-I...," I start but can't finish. I walk out the door and start running down the halls years falling from my face. I should've known better then falling for someone like that. I ran and ran and could see the door a couple feet away when I was pushed against the wall. "Stop young missy detention this afternoon now get to class," I hear my principle say and I nod my head and start slowly walking to class. As soon as I see him gone I turn around and before I could start running someone had grabbed hold of my arm and was pulling me towards them. I turn to see Lucas and I screamed from the pain. Gosh he was hurting me. I thought for a minute my arm would fall off when he let go and grabbed the other. "Let go of me," I below to him ready to throw a fist. "Calm down if you agree to be my girlfriend I'll let you go," he said and shrugged his shoulders. "Never," I hiss. "Well I guess you will never be let go," he said dragging me behind him. "NO," I scream and pull free and run to the door and quickly go outside but he was faster then me and had already grabbed me again. "Yes," he smirked. "LET ME GO YOU *****," I scream at him but he refused."Fine if you want it that way you can have that way," I thought and sat on the ground surprising him and getting him off balance.
I took my chance and punched him but he just grabbed my fist and smirked. I was pissed now. I could feel the heat building up in me. "No no no no," I thought but I couldn't stop it now. "Run," I scream. Before I could move though fireballs were shooting out of my hands. I was lifted in the air and started spinning. When I fell back down the school was on fire and I could only see it from a distance. I wondered why I was so far from it when I saw that I wasn't on the ground but in the air. "Great I'm still causing fires," I thought but then realized that I was cold and felt water on my skin. I looked and then realized why I was so far. I was t far at all but on the ground in the format of water spraying the fire out. I was back to normal but something was making me fly. I kept forcing myself down but I kept rising back up. When I finally fell down I landed on my feet with a hand on the ground and hair all in my face and I looked up to see the while school whispering and gasping in excitement. I quickly started flying away crying. "Maddie," someone said and I turn around to see Zevin flying after me. "What happened to me," I said. "I really don't know but I'll figure it out now do you see why we don't leave my world," he said in a smart way . I nodded my head and kept crying when I started falling out of the air. I screamed so loud my voice went out. "MADIE," he screams and rushes after me. Luckily he caught me and helped me get my balance again. "Let's get you home," he suggested. As we entered my house I started to think about my mom and how she figured out to keep her powers hidden. I got my keys and started to open the door but before I could even get the key out of my pocket I heard a click and the door flew open. I looked at Zevin and he looked just as confused as I did. "I didn't do it this time," I said scared about what was going to happen. "Are you...," he started but then someone interrupted. They said with evil in their voice"Of course she is sure! Now you wouldn't question your little girlfriend now would you?" "Shut up father," Zevin hissed in anger. I just stared at them both. They looked nothing alike. While Zevin had blonde hair and blue eyes his dad had brunette hair and grey eyes. "Ahh it's my long lost son. I'm not here to harm you or your girlfriend but I am here to show you something," he said unconcerned about the threat. "I-I-Is he a werewolf," I blurt out immediately regretting it. "Ahhh smart girl you have there son! Why yes I am a werewolf but don't worry I am the good kind," he said and I look at Zevin to see if this was true but he looked as though he was going to pass out. I ran over to him and helped him get his balance back. He still looked like he was going to get sick though. His face was green but after a while it turned back to normal and he looked MAD. "Why did you do that she is important to Maddie and me and you knew that! Stop trying to ruin my life you have already done that enough," he said as he raised his wand. Oh no! His dad turned to werewolf form and pounced. "NOOOO," I screamed and jumped in front of Zevin. I felt soft fur then claws and then could smell blood. I slowly passed out but before I did I saw Zevin leaning over me pushing some buttons pm his phone and putting it on his ear. When I woke up I was in a upside down room. Oh wait it was me that was upside down. I was on the ceiling somehow. I realized that I was sleep flying. "Great," I murmured and flew back down. "Are you ok," I turn to see Zevin pacing around watching me. "Ummm yea I think I am," I said not wanting him to be more worried then he was. "Good good," he murmured and started pacing again. "What's wrong I have never seen you this worried even when apophasis was taking over your world," I worriedly said. "Thats because compared to this he was nothing. I was officially freaked out. How could this be worse then that? Also how did I get here, what did his dad mean , and why didn't he tell me his dad was a werewolf? All these questions is what I asked myself and decided I absolutely needed to know. "Before anything else I need to know how did I get here," I said so tired I almost fainted. "Woah don't fall," he said rushing over to help me "and to answer your question I called a ... Well let's put it this way a friend helped me out." I looked at him curiously "What "friend"," I stared at him still expecting him to lie to me. "I-I-I can't tell you," he said nervously. "It's a girl isn't it," I blurted out regretting it afterwards. He just nodded looking like he was guilty. "Well I'm leaving then," I said almost crying. "Maddie, please don't leave me ," he said holding me in a hug. "I'm sorry but I can't do this if you have a girlfriend," I said with a tear slowly running down my face. "We are not dating she just helped me out she had a favor to pay me," he said gently putting his finger on my face stopping the tear from going down my face any longer. "What do you mean a favor to pay you?" "I mean I helped her and she had to help me." "But what did she help you with and what did you help her with ," I said confused more then I had ever been before. "Well..... I .... Ugh you would get mad if I told you," he said sighing. "I will not! I can't get mad at something you did in the past. The past is in the past," I said barely smiling. "Well I made a promise to bring a girl here and make her leader along side with me that would help defeat apophosis and and....," he stuttered as I realized what he meant. "And kill her," I finished for him. He nodded his head. "Well kill me then! Just kill me now it will be quick and painless and I can finally be happy! Away from all my troubled ! Away from everyone and everything," I said sobbing. He was going to kill me! I thought he loved me but really he just used me. I got up ready to leave when he grabbed my arm. "Let me go," I sobbed "Let me finish I beg you," he said trying to hug me but I pulled back. I didn't want to be around him I wanted to be away at home saying that this was all a dream even though I knew it wasn't. I looked at him and just nodded my head not caring anymore. I wanted this to be over with and for him to stop hurting me like he does and somehow keeping me drawn to him. "You see I completed that task so she owed me a favor," he said sincerely looking into my eyes making me melt. "But you didn't kill me...," I said with the me hanging. "Oh but I did but not on purpose anyway," he said lowering his hand like he was saddened by this. "But I'm here alive and talking," I exclaimed really confused now. When I fell my arm became in extreme pain. I didn't know what to do anymore. I felt hopeless. I felt like the whole world was caving in on me. "Don't mean to interrupt Zevin but I think she's hurt by the way she's holding her arm," he said but I could tell that it was Anubis talking not him. I tried to get up but I fell back down instantly. I cried in pain as I fell back on my arm. Why did I have to land on my arm. He held out a hand for me but I didn't take it. I didn't need his help after all he did try to kill me didn't he? I shook my hand and tried to get up again. "Maddie, stop! Your going to get hurt let me help you," he said holding out his hand again. "I told you not to call me that and I won't hurt myself more then I have already I can get up," I scowled. Before I could try to get up again he had grabbed me and was holding me in his arms. "Let me go," I whispered. I was to tired to yell anymore. "Let me finish then," he whispers back. I nod my head not caring anymore as long as I was put down. "Well when you passed out you drained all your powers wich killed you. I still had that favor though and when you died I went straight to her to repay the favor. I got her to bring you back to life and it cost me another favor but I don't care as long as you are here with me," he said kissing my forehead. "What favor," I said as loud as I could wich wasn't very loud. "I-I-I don't know if I should tell you just yet," he said "Tell me please," I said getting curious now. "Well... Gosh I don't want to hurt you anymore," he said. "It won't I promise," I said quietly. "She wants me to forget about you and and treat her like I do you," he slowly and sadly said. At times he made me mad and sad and confused but other times I never wanted to leave him. This was one of those times. "She she made herself look like you. "Dad, what are you doing here," Zevin hisses. "Haha well I was watching such a sweet romantic conversation but I knew I was going to have to end it soon," his father said smiling at me. I tightened my grip on Zevin. The way he looked at me was evil. It scared me very much. "Why," Zevin screamed. "Haha you are so funny! To tell you the next clue of how to save it," he said laughing the whole time. "I have not even found the first one yet defiantly not ready for the second," Zevin hisses back again getting angrier by the minute. "Ahh but you have! The first clue was love have you not seen that you have found it right there in your hands?" I looked up at him to see him nodding his head. What were they talking about? What was it? What clues? Ugh I was so confused! "I have but what does that have to do with the first clue? The first clue talked nothing of love!" "Yes but it was love and that's all you need to know for now. The second clue is WHAT WAS ONCE YOURS IS NOW NOT YOU MUST FIND A WHOLE NEW PLOT," and then he was gone. "Come on Maddie I think it's better if we get you to the hospital now," Zevin said and starts flying. I nod my head still confused about what just happened. As we were flying I could see the whole city. I laughed as we rode over it even though I had a broken arm. When we arrived to the hospital they checked me in and put me in some surgery and I was out for a while. All I had thought about though was what that clue could mean and why he needed it. When I woke up I could see an I.V. In my arm. "Great," I mumble. "Finally your up! We need to get out if here now! If we don't she'll get us and most importantly you," Zevin said and takes the I.V. Out and grabs me and holds me in his arms and starts flying away out the window so no one saw us. "Why is she so jealous of me," I question. "I really don't know Maddie," Zevin said and flys higher.
