I was dressed in my favorite blue dress, my hair was in two pigtails. Just the way I liked it. My mommy gave me a warm smile, she held my hand tightly as we entered the big building. I walked beside my mommy. She came to a door decorated with what seemed cut out apples, there were also pictures of childeren's handprints with their names under it. I poked one of the pictures and giggled. "Come on sweetheart," she said, taking my hand and leading me into the classroom. I looked around, there room was decorated so nicely. There were paper suns hanging from the ceiling and a calender, and there was an alphabet carpet, I could see the letter Z, it was a green letter, my second favorite color. I turned around the small corner and saw a 17 or 100 kids sitting on the carpet, I gasped and ran to my mommy. "Mommy, can we go?" I replied in my little 6 year old voice. My mommy smiled at me and kissed my cheek. Then she turned her attention back to the nice looking lady. I stayed behind my mommy for as long as I could, until she got on her knees and gave me her warm smile that made me feel safe from harm. "Okay, now, do you promise mommy you'll be a good girl?" she said as she moved a piece of my hair behind my ear. I nodded. "Good," she said as she smiled. She handed me my pink glittery backpack and my pink lunchbox. She gave me a big hug and a kiss on my forehead befor she trailed out the door. The nice looking lady took my hand in hers and walked to the front of the class. All the girls and boys were staring at me. She smiled at them all and gave my hand a gentle squeeze. "Class, this is Morgan, she is new here, now I want everyone to make her feel welcome, Fae, that includes you too," she said to a blonde headed girl. Fae was pretty with the longest hair I've ever seen, she gave me a mean stare and I felt a shiver up my spine. "Morgan, why don't you put your backpack in your cubby," she said to me in my ear. She pointed to a blue cubby that was absolutely empty. She walked me over there and told me to put my backpack and my lunchbox in there. When I looked at everyone else's cubbys they had stickers and nice looking backpacks with Spongebob Squarepants, or The PowerPuff Girls, my favorite superheros ever. My backpack was plain with only glitter, everyone here was better than me they had the best things, and I had the most plain. "Oh and by the way Morgan, I am Mrs. Carlis." the nice looking lady replied before sitting me on the letter M on the the alphabet carpet. I glanced around the carpet and our eyes met. Me and the girl with the long blonde hair. She snarled at me before whispering something in the girl who was sitting next to her ear. The girl turned and looked at me and they both giggled, I played with my fingers and didn't speak a word with anybody. That day on the playground, I sat on a bench by myself and ate my peabut butter sandwich. Then the girl with the long blonde hair and 2 other girls with long hair walked by the bench where I was. "Hi," smiled the girl with the long blonde hair. "Hi," I said softly "Is your name really Morgan?" A girl with long black hair asked me I nodded and smiled, hoping they would compliment my name. "Isn't that a boy's name?" The long blonded hair girl asked "N-no, it could be a girls name too, I'm named after my daddy," I said proudly. "Isn't your daddy a boy?" "Well, yes but-" "So it's a boy's name," "No," "So your a boy," "No," "Where is your daddy anyway? How come we didn't see him?" "My mommy told me that when I was still in my mommy's belly, my daddy died and went to heaven, she says he is in a better place," I said sadly. "Ewww, you don't have a daddy?" "No," "Maybe he died because he was a freak like you," The long haired blonde headed girl said. I got up for off the bench and stepped up to her, "Take it back, my daddy was not a freak he was a nice man who fought for his country!" The blonde headed girl folded her arms, "No, your a freak and so is your dad," I quickly poinced on the blonde headed girl I wanted to rip all her long hair out, I scratched her face and bit her arm, she screamed "Mrs. Carlis! Help me! Help Me!" Mrs. Carlis pulled me off her and shook my arm, "What is going on here?" " I tried to make friends with her but then she pounced on me, look, she even bit me," The blonde headed girl replied showing Mrs. Carsil the bite mark on her arm. "Yes, she did," said the girl with the long brown hair. "Yeah I saw it myself!" The girl with the long black hair said, "Liars!" I yelled. "I want to go home! I want to go home!" I kicked my feet as hard as I could. Mrs. Carsil calmed me down in the corner of the playground. "Your mommy is at work, won't it dissapoint her if she gets a call from me saying that you hit a girl your first day here?" Mrs. Carsil said to me softly, "But they made fun of my daddy," I said sadly "Why would that offend you, they don't even know your daddy?" "My daddy is in heaven, and they said he was freak, like me," I said looking at my feet. Mrs. Carsil had a sympathetic look in her eye and on her face she gave me a hug and for some reason, I felt warm and loved.
