FiveFingers.

  1. Yup I'm talking about the toe shoes. The best brand of them of course are thenFiveFingers. My stomachs bothering me so I've been on the toilet a majority of my morning; what I have come to realize it that my feet look really muscular.

I've been wearing my FiveFingers for over a year now. I wear them for like everything. I have three pair: Bikila, TrekSport, and just recently bought some classics.

I've heard that they strengthen parts of your leg that you normally don't use, as well as your feet; I am just now realizing that they are actually working for me I guess. It's kinda nasty, I can flex my foot and it looks strong 

    Any who...

Does anyone else wear FiveFingers or any of the, not nearly as nice and honestly pointless, rip off toe shoes?

  2. It's bad for your arch. If in racing, I would wear Brooks T7 running flats.
If i'm training for a race awhile from now, I'll wear Brooks Ghost3 cross trainers. If the race is during the week I'll run with Nikes.

  3. Common misconception.

If you strike with the middle of your foot they are bad for your arch. Strike with the heel they are bad for your shin and other parts of you leg. Strike on your toes and you will damage tendons in you foot if you are not used to it.

To get used to them you have to strike with the outside of you foot (right foot, right side. Left foot, left side) and then roll into the center.

  4. But not everyone runs like that D:

  5. You adjust if you wear the shoes. 

You get used to it after a couple weeks.

  6. Well you can change to any running style if you focus on that instead of running normally. When people run, "most" like to stay in a comfort zone.

  7. It's very comfortable lol

You get the benefit of very comfy shoes too. The coolest part is the texture of the ground. Depending on the type of shoes you can feel everything on the ground almost as well as you could without shoes.

  8. From what I know, they're bad for marathons and stuff. They're good for shorter runs and triathlons and crap.

  9. I run in the woods out here with regular trails. I'll end up chopping my feet off in that case. Too expensive.

  10. I must say, those shoes? Are ugly as hell.

  11. The TrekSport are great for trail running. I trail run regularly. I can't tell you about marathons I've never ran a marathon in them.

I have ran 2 Spartan races in them. And am doing a tough mudder in June. There is nothing wrong with them so long as you ease into wearing them.

  12. Spartan races are more of a start and stop event. I've been in six so far. Tough mudder in December.

I can't really imagine running a marathon in them. No thanks. My heels will fall off.

  13. The only discomfort I had was in about the first month and a half. That was due to my stupidity. I ran in them way too often and it can cause damage to your achilles tendon.

I guess they aren't for everyone though; but how can you know until you try.

  14. I have tried them. I bought then custom-made and I got rid of them, custom-made.

  15. They always come custom made 

Unless you are cheap and by the knock off ones.

They're not for everyone. I like them though.

  16. I know they are bought custom made.
That's why I said it, to prove I actually had them.

  17. I didn't think you were lying.

  18. Shan, they are good for crap?  doesn't seem to make sense

  19. Bump.
    Considering other people..
