Hi all. I've been casually working on a guide to the values of all the items on pimd over the past half year, and I've just decided to release it slowly, in small instalments, then to release a master thread with organized links to all of them. The first part I plan to release is the spinner sets that were released between September 2015 and October 2016. I'd like to post a sample of one set with the formatting that I'm likely to use. The name of the set is hyperlinked to its introductory thread by a.t.a, the values are rough estimates. Please say if you prefer different colours or think some parts of the text should be bolded, formatted differently, whatever. Any feedback would be swell. I don't explain why this set is worth more than a bento or a "2mcs" item here, it's in another part of the guide. o is the new symbol for the value of a bento and c is the new symbol for that of chibis. There's a thread for discussing the use of these as a unit of value. But yep. plop January 2016 - The Magicianimals = 2o Components: Owlkazam, Abracatiger, Hocat Pocat, Wingardium Lionosa, Wizard Rabbit. All the components of this set are worth the same, and 5 of each are required to make the set. If the components were to be bought and combined to make the set without gaining or losing value, (5*5) / 80c = 1:3c, each piece would have to be bought for ~3c. This sets the minimum price of these components.
Why do we even need this thread ? We can only buy stuff what others sell and we can only get it for what they are willing to sell it for. So, threads that value stuff are pretty much useless.
That's about as microeconomical as you can get. The economy of pimd is better formed than that, you're just unaware.
an items value thread usually won't last long. If you ask why? It is because the items price in pimd is gradually changing, but nice info tho…
His statement about how we buy/sell things was valid, but it doesn't invalidate the premise of a market with prices. You can only buy 1 chinese yen if someone else is selling it and we can only buy it for what they are willing to sell it for" Yet there is still an ongoing and fluctuating price of yen to USD. This fact doesn't invalidate standard prices and macroeconomics. It's just within it. Yes one person can hold onto their yen and not sell if even for 1,000,000 USD, but other people sell it based on their own beliefs on value. If he owned the only one, it would also be up to someone to choose to buy it for his price, and they might decline. So he may never sell it.
I adjust for changes and discuss them when largley relevant. :/ This is just some of the meat. There's a brain section and nervous system of faith/demand, as well as a skeleton of supply. Not asking you to judge the whole body yet. You can't see it. Just please judge the meat.
? I'll release some cns for you to judge and argue again then in a few weeks time. If that's what you want to pick at/say it doesn't exist.
instead of (5*5) / 80c = 1:3c Go with (5*5):80c => 1:3c Or (5*5):80c ~ 1:3c if you really must try and equate non-matching ratios (but none of it was immediately clear what you meant)
Thanks Gaz. Excellent suggestion. I'll update it immediately. The explanation is a bit confusing. I'll refine the wording.
