Finger Scanning In School

Discussion in 'Off Topic' started by Karina-The-One-And-Only, Apr 19, 2012.

  1. My School is starting to do a finger scanning for all the students in the Middle School Only. They said that this will replace our I.D's since they believe that no one really wears, loses them and forgets to bring them. So they will Scan our fingers for lunch from now on. I don't know if this is good or bad. What do you think?

Sorry if I'm wasting space I just wanted to see what your opinions are since some of you are adults already.

    Thanks!

  2. My school has you memorize your "number" and just type that in for lunch e.e and computer access

  3. It's alright:0,got it at my school.annoying though as my finger print doesn't load half the time -.-

  4. It's a bad thing. Here you just memorize a number like he said 

  5. It sounds kewl! Altho we don't have it

  6. Meh. At my school. We have numbers like we're in jail. We also HAVE to memorize them. I haven't memorized mine yet, and don't plan to. We have a first and last name.

  7. It's not like that here. The number Is so that when you go to lunch somebody doesn't just take your name and your money. With the numbers they can't do that.

  8. My highschool have the finger scan n the lunch line goes by pretty fast 

  9. I had to memorize my school number in elementary school and used it all through grades 1-12 . They just had us type it in.

Finger scan sounds efficient but can be flawed .

numbers can be flawed too, people sharing numbers

  10. I just have to put in my number in this keyboard thingy

  11. But Dan, If someone shares a number and then gets money taken, it's their own fault. Happened at my school a couple times 

  12. When you are in line, the person behind you can look over your shoulder and see your number or watch you enter it in. The only way around that is if they have monitors and a photo ID.

A finger scan takes a second or two and its done (if it isn't a ghetto scanner) but you run into the the problem of germs when you place your finger on the scanner.

  13. Wow. At my school we use a piece of paper that has 1-10 days on it. Wow technology is getting crazy 

  14. technology is not crazy enough

  15. My school was intense.

They made us memorize a list of trick questions.

Then, we would be forced to whip ourselves 6 times which granted us access into a room that led us to two doors.

Then, we were to grab the goblet. Which was cool and all, but the goblet was invisible.
The only way you could find the goblet is if you sacrificed one of your friend's toes.

Then you would have to pick a door but you were only allowed to open the door with your tongue. The right door led you to the lunch room.

We're not allowed to talk about the other door....

  16. SHAN
    That sounds like fun

    all I had was a stupid I.D
didn't see the point. Damn line took to damn long.

So what was behind the other door. You have to know.

  17. It's a good thing none of you were my friends. I was always hungry. So if you were my friend back in the day, then I'm sorry. 

  18. Lmao.

We have a school ID card that we use for lunch. I just keep it inside my wallet. ._.

But in Macao, you have a student ID card you use to get discounts on the bus and all that crap. I don't think a flimsy piece of paper would have that much meaning, so I threw it in the trashcan.

Honestly... Should've made it using plastic instead of paper... *headdesk*
