final goodbye

This is something I wrote on the day of my friends funeral.
Rest in Peace Alice

Raindrops falling down,
Grey sky looming overhead.
A tear trickles down my cheek.
The heavens are opening up for you.
One last moment to say goodbye,
Until your spirit floats into the sky.
The roaring of the thunder,
The flashing of the lightening:
They are both welcoming you up there.
I didn't get to say goodbye;
But on a starry night I'll look up
And say goodnight.
Then I'll know you will always be with me,
At least in my heart and memories.
Thank you for everything you taught me:
Thank you for being there when nobody else was.
Thank you for being you.
