Hello my fellow fanfictionites(fanficianacs? Idk). So a few months ago HEXIN had a thread called FanFic News. It was good but unfortunately it was discontinued... UNTIL NOW I now present FanFic News 2.0. (it's like those apps that are supposed to be better then the original but rarely ever are!!) Starting now I'll be taking requests and such from people to review, and every few days I'll do an editorial on some random stuff I thought was cool. Ok I finally got around to my first installment of... (drumroll please) FANFIC NEWS 2.0 I have listened to the requests of many writers (ok like 5 but still...) and today I'll be reviewing Damnation and The Final Breathe. (To the others I'm going to be reviewing your stories in a few days) Damnation: Picture this, the gates of hell. Satan is standing behind a pedestal with a huge book full of all of your sins. This is what the 5 main characters in damnation face at the stories beginning. I have to say, it's a pretty enjoyable read, mostly because of the characters. Some feel remorseful for their actions (Chance, Julie), while others use past experiences to their advantage, like the bamf Charlie (yours truly). Now I'm going to be a grammar natzi, just because I can. While the plot is amazing and suspenseful the grammar could use a little work. I'm not talking adjective abuse (*cough* Twilight *cough*) or bad sentence structure (the cat ate devoured the salmon trout), I'm talking missed CaPiTaLs and "q"o"u"t"a"t"i"o"n" "m"a"r"k"s". I'm not saying that's a huge issue, everybody does stuff like that (i.e me) so I'm not complaining. Overall a very good story. 93.4 sin books/97 The Final Breathe The first thing I have to say before I start is one of the reason I didn't read the story, last time I checked it was breath not breathe. Now I can review. The beginning was by far the best part, it was creepy, disturbing, ominous, and I completely loved it. But the rest of the story fell short of my expectations. Don't get me wrong it was good, just not very tied into the amazingly awesome beginning. GN time! so 2day i went 2 da store and it was cool!! No, it was not cool. I guess I can't get to angry with the 2 use without sounding like a hypocrite (Luv2Rok, thy name is hypocrite) but damn it I will. u need 2 stop the use of 2 for 2 cause it makes me want 2 stop reading... 2. Today's topic: Role Players I'm pretty sure sophieclairr already wrote something about this but I need to as well. I've been in Fan Fiction for a while, I can remember when there were only 23 pages (I said pages, not threads) and Danzos preyed on innocent n00bs. It was pretty brutal yet totally awesome. But back in those ancient times there was not ONE role-play thread, now there's close to ten or eleven. But whatever happened? Let me explain: random RPer "Holy crud PIMD?!? I can role-play?" -2 minutes later- "no role-plays to be found! Just perv role-play clubs!" "I know! I'll spam forums with role-plays! What could go wrong?" You see? Honestly I don't have anything against role-plays, I've tried a couple and they're pretty fun, but I hate how they push stories off the first pages. People work hard on their poetry and stories and nobody notices cause they're to bust roleplaying about being a ninja-corgi-princess. I think that the role-plays should be few and far in-between, or in Off-Topic... So that concludes the first installment of...
