Lettuce talk about birth control. I decided to try the patch to get rid of my period (which ik is not healthy but whatever, women all around the world use BC so I was like 'why not?') Stuff had me crying every day, I got mild acne on my arm, I was having green bowel movements, barely ate for the two weeks I was using it and still managed to gain 6 pounds. I get you guys donut want babies and stuff but why are so many people willingly using this poison when there are less invasive and damaging methods oml. It's been a week and a half maybe since I went off it and I've just been starting to feel better. O rite and I bled for two weeks straight so it didn't even do what I intended.
I went on birth control pills for the opposite..to get my period balanced. Itâs a mood changer and I do get a big appetite but I can control myself âsometimesâ. I do break out...rn I have one on my chin and it hurts đ€§đ And I was like..I shouldâve left it like it was no periods at all but then like I thought well itâs bad to not have one either. So yeah pills have pros and cons to it. Ohhhh a good thing itâs that it had an effect on my skin and hair...looks more lively and radiant (or maybe itâs the rose water)đđ
Some people donât have a regular period so theyâre prescribed birth control to try an regulate it.
Tried the patch and didn't have any issues with that, but I kept forgetting the take off / change the patch so I decided I wasn't really responsible enough for that. So I decided to try the depo shot. I had non-stop bleeding for 6 months, but my gyno had told me it has about a 6 month adjustment period so I crossed my fingers and hoped that after 6 months, my body would figure it out and I would have a normal period. The funny thing is, I was told going into it that most women stop having a period on the depo shot. The bleeding never stopped. I ended up having my period for an entire year before I could actually stop the injections and switch to a new one, because I really don't want to have a permanent period. Now I'm on the pill, and I'm loving it. I have a short, light period once a month. I hadn't taken it in the first place because I wasn't responsible. But after the depo incident, I was like I have to get my shit together and get responsible. I've been on that for about 7 months now.
That is scary af. Personally I'm not gonna mess with hormones again just cuz I wanna get rid of my period but I'm glad you found something that works for you. I've heard terrible things about depo provera. Bone thinning, constant bleeding, if you choose to have kids down the line tubal pregnancies happen at a higher rate. Stuffs scary.
