  1. Recently I have seen a lot of people talking about how they are/were in an online relationship and they're worried about wether their actually talking to the person their other is claiming to be.

I will provide a list of tips to help you figure out some information yourself

Google Image Search is my first recommendation. With this "tool" you will be able to use any pictures your "other" has sent to you and see if they plucked it somewhere off of the web, just because a hit doesn't show up doesn't mean that it wasn't taken from somewhere on the net however

Skype is your next best bet, it is hard for someone to cheat a video call (there ARE ways to do it, but with some common sense you will be able to tell) If they tell you they can't then they are more than likely playing you with who they are, Skype is a free download and is free to use (with the exception of some minor features) most laptops come equipped with a webcam now and your smartphone is also capable of using Skype so the excuses are limited (not to mention a webcam can be purchased at Walmart)

Google. Yes this could be on the top of the list, but to google someone you actually have to have some sort of information to follow wether it be a name/address/phone number all of those can help you verify the persons existence as for what to do with google use your brain.

With those three things you have the world at your fingertips. I know 90% of this is stuff people should know, but with the number of people I see talking about it I figured it was worth a post.

If you would like assistance on any investigations you can walk me  Have fun and be safe!

  2. There's also a website that tells whether or not a picture was taken off the web, but I can't say because it's an app too. :x

  3. Didn't mean to make that face. ^ 

  4. Yeah that's why I didn't mention it  there are tons of methods but those are probably the three easiest and straight forward to use in my opinion.

  5. My first girlfriend, met online. Met in real life. And dated for 5 years.

    Screw you catfish.

  6. I'm not saying everyone lies, but a majority of the people I've met on the web/social apps do

  7. A show about online relationships, and how the person you're seeing can be potentially not who you thought they were.

  8. It's a documentary turned tv show about people in online relationships meeting the person who's actually on the other end

  9. Its on MTV love that show

  10. I love that show! And good tips!
