A thread on ego {I have a lots of it as well} Ego is the Latin word for "I." So if a person seems to begin every sentence with "I", it's sometimes a sign of a big ego. It was the psychologist Sigmund Freud (well, actually his original translator) who put ego into the popular vocabulary, but what he meant by the word is complex, so only other psychologists really use it in the Freudian sense. The rest of us generally use ego simply to mean one's sense of self-worth, whether exaggerated or not. When used in the "exaggerated" sense, ego is almost the same thing as conceit. Meeting a superstar athlete without a trace of this kind of ego would be a most refreshing experience. But having a reasonable sense of your own worth is no sin. Life's little everyday victories are good—in fact, necessary—for a healthy ego. Let me put it into even simpler or maybe complex words for you. You have a point of view and to yourself, you might sometimes come across as a person of huge importance but in reality, you are just another person out there. In general, people want to get recognised and sometimes they share unnecessarystuff that is either too personal or not that important just coz they want to prove to everyone how great their lives are and not only will that make everything awkward for others it will push many people away from you. Just coz you have a lot of people hating you doesn't mean that you are doing a great job and people are jealous of you maybe you are just some kind of negative influence irritating them. So, what's the point here? If someone's having a disagreement with you then that doesn't mean he wants to sit on you but well maybe he wants something good for you and wants you to be a better person and even if he doesn't you can still use that as something to improve yourself. 3-4 years ago I wasn't the person I am today and I just have been learning from friends as well as the people who do criticise me at some points. Many people throughout there lives keep evolving coz they look at the big picture and actually try to see the flaws in them instead of just denying it all To summarize : 1)You don't have to try too hard to get attention coz if they are worth that you will get that anyways. 2)Not everyone who disagrees with you hates you. 3)Sometimes try to stay on the ground and give everyone the same amount of importance that you give to your self. Tried sleeping but I couldn't so made a thread on whatever I was thinking about Converted the whole thread into fruit loops coz it's almost breakfast time ~lucii/vashie out Please refrain from breaking the ToU or Forum CoC.
Pretty thread and all but the fruit loops thingy kinda makes it unreadable, and i'm not even part of the blind kidz club
Dude why'd you put such a creepy danganroppa gif? What's that particular one even have to do with egos? The Fate and the Spiderman ones complemented your lesson at least. (I have seen neither the fate series nor dangonroppa)*insert cry laughing emoji here* But props to you for posting the first rainbow paragraph I've actually read *insert applause emoji here*
Lol here’s a comment about the actual topic.? Having a big ego is definitely something I struggle with. I am fairly vain and egotistical which is something I need to work on. One of the reasons may be because I’m an only child and was spoon fed a lot of things. SO YEAH. And lol, when I read ego the first thing I thought about was Freud’s id, ego, and superego.
