I feel like the only reason I come on forums anymore to be disappointed. Like lets be serious now, what kind of threads are made? Complaints, stupid hot topic discussions that make people angry, random threads, threads that don't make sense, threads that aren't communicable, idiotic "support me" game ideas, spam, club drama, or the occasional good thread. "Why do you stay around if you don't like the forums?" That's a good question..I've been asking myself that for three years now. Maybe I look at the forums in high hopes for that occasional good thread, or maybe I just enjoy being disappointed with how the game turned out. Regardless, I can't stop. It's like I'm addicted to the disappointment. Active topics right this second, is so full of stupid, that I feel stupid for reading it. No offense. Be offended if you want. The only thing that I wish for, with this game, is for the forums to be honestly cleansed of annoyance. Is that possible? I mean, I'm doing my best to make stupid people stop posting, just by making them realize their stupid. I won't say I'm a genius, but it's nice to let people have their opinions, even though they're WRONG. That's just my two cents. Spend it on whatever, don't pick it up, don't care. I don't normally rant anymore, so consider this a gift. Peace off, -CJS️
CJS, I understand this is all true, but nothing has happened. And nothing will happen unless somebody does something to clean it up here.
I'm not trying to start a revolution, I just wanted to post something because it's midnight here, I'm bored and I can't sleep.
Well, what exactly do you want to see? We all know what we don't want to see. Better to work towards a solution then.
We all agree that this is what must happen, but what we don't agree on is the end goal, and how we get there.
You know what I really enjoyed? It's in Best-Of I believe.. PIMD parodies. People parodied popular songs and spun them into a PIMD-versed song, and some of them were pretty well off. I enjoy your art threads, those are ones I look forward to, because I enjoy and laugh at the majority of them, so you were one of the examples of the good thread-makers. I would like to see more fact-based threads, deep conversation, actual debates (not arguments, there is a different), and just an overall change in community involvement as well as an improvement on community happiness. I want to look forward to coming on forums and not being able to get through active topics before going to bed because there is so much awesome.
GanjaFarmer, do you know what a rant is? Are you surprised its a complaint thread? What gave it away?
? Logan... You are pretty much saying how I feel about Forums, all in all. I'm pretty much all else you say will still be of that same nature/wavelength or however you can say " we are thinking the same thing"
There was one game I was on that had a thread with nearly a 6k pages dedicated to Satanism and other non Christian/Jewish/Muslim religions. It was over 2 years old, and was continuously being bumped. There were of course arguments, and trolling, but usually any trolls were taken care of in a classy manner. It seems like anything here that develops into something worthwhile gets locked though. And anything remotely intellectual is worthy of deletion.
Totally agree. That happened to me last night CJS. I was in the best of, and I ended up reading 3 year old forums til 6 am. I started off with Rai-Rai's column, worked my way through most of parodies and finished off with the PIMD Time Capsule,
Well, I posted a thread about 9/11, and how it was a tribute to those who had lost family members, and those who have their lives to save the people in the burning buildings.. I have credit to the firefighters, EMS, civilian forces, volunteers and servicemembers who gave their lives and their time to help protect and preserve the USA, if not make it better. HOWEVER it was locked, and then later deleted because apparently it offended someone. How does a thank you letter freaking offend someone? I poured my heart out and they deleted it, and sent me a message saying, "Sorry." Like, come on man
CJS, I think anything that has a .01% chance to make somebody angry will, because so many people see the forums.
