  1. "Dreams" - Langston Hughes

    Hold fast to dreams,
    For if dreams die,
    Life is a broken-winged bird,
    That cannot fly.

    Hold fast to dreams,
    For when dreams go,
    Life is a barren field,
    Frozen with snow.

So there's the poem. What I'd like is if you are up to it, post your interpretation of this poem, and even, if you'd like, a third stanza. If you do create your own stanza, please consider it include the following:
    •4 line stanza
    •ABCB rhyme scheme
•Consistence with the rest of the poem
    •Use this format:

    Hold fast to dreams
    For ___ Dreams ___
    Life is ____________

So go ahead, forums! I want to see your creative side. Not just Fan Fic; I know people there are creative. There are also more people that roam the other sections, so I figured it would be likely there would be more posters.

    My interpretation is this:

In the first stanza, I believe it tells you that without a dream, life isn't really like at all. You cannot live life happily without dreams; without something to strive towards.

In the second stanza, I believe it is telling you that you cannot allow yourself to be completely consumed with those dreams. Life is still going on around you and you miss out on many things by only focusing on your dream, say, career. And that if you only focus on your career your life will be very dull without experiencing other experiences that life has to offer.

    My original stanza:

    Hold fast to dreams
    For when dreams hide
    Life is a car
    On an unexpected ride.

Basically what I mean is that, when you lose sight of your dreams then you have no idea of what direction you should continue towards in life.

    So... Happy posting? Lol.

  2. I think both the 1st and 2nd stanzas agree with each other. Meaning both are saying that dreams are good.
