During my Sophomore year of high school, everyone heard about a hypnotist coming to perform. I decided yeah, why not try this out. Well, the day comes and I'm tired af so the relaxing part wasn't hard, and when I'm tired I've always been able to concentrate on one specific sound. The hypnotist appears, gets people on stage as the main stars, and starts his act. I'm in the audience, and he allows the audience to participate. He tells us to do a few different things (which worked on me) before we try to get hypnotized. Then we were told to relax and concentrate on his voice. I did that, and next thing I know I'm standing in the aisle and my friends are staring at me like wtf. Side note: My friends recorded some videos, so I saw myself "walking like a model" to the stage, posing, jumping around like an idiot, and doing the egyptian dance while walking in the aisle to the spot I woke up at. Side note #2: I woke up feeling like I slept the best sleep in years, which is a noted side effect of hypnotization. This story is 100% true, and I was really hypnotized. I am proof that hypnotization works (on some people).
I dunno if it's included or not ? But I wanna share it to everyone... Did you try to combine the two characters in one cosplay then go to comicon event and people start asking you what character that you portrayed? ? Yes, I did it. I combined Nico and Eri Ayase (yes, love live characters) in one cosplay. I got Eri's costume but I forgot to buy a wig so, how about I'm going to use Nico's hairstyle since my hair is black? ? When I went in Comicon Event.. people start looking at me and just wondering what character that I portrayed. ? They are just stare at me tho~~ and some people wants to have a picture with me.. Some cosplayers said that.. "I didn't remember that Nico wearing that costume in Love Live", "Are you portraying your own character? That's cute to be honest", "Why Nico wearing Ayes's costume?" and etc.. I was like "actually, my friend suggested me to use Eri Ayase for no reason and I'm not fan of Love Live". ? To be honest, that day is my first cosplay in that kind of event... ((Lol.. I went there because I thought Alodia (Filipino cosplayer) was there tho but my friend didn't tell me that she's not there ??? DAMNIT!))
Okay, I got this in the bag. The best live show I've ever seen was Godsmack. #1. Their songs are all great. #2. Sully Erna was soooooooooo drunk he was hilarious but still did a fantastic job. #3. Everytime I go to a concert I play a game where I try to get to the front row. You know, push and shove and elbow your way to the front, as you do at every rock show. Well at this concert I succeed. Front row center. It was amazing! Everyone should go see Godsmack. Their live show is really fun, and the music always sounds so much better at live shows because of the energy of the crowd.
Back in 2007, Fort Leonard Wood Missouri, Lynard Skynyrd played for the soldiers. Best concert ever, though I went to the er for a concussion during the concert, but they came and visited us in the hospital and sat and got to talk to them for a while. They are really cool laid back people. Asked me what happened and I told them I got a concussion during their concert and they played a couple songs in the er for me and the other injured soldiers. My drill sergeant enjoyed it. I still have that ticket. 11 years later and I found that ticket about a week ago with my military possessions.
Dude, I met them at a BBQ! They are friends with one of my uncles. They are super nice laid back people! That's awesome they came to visit you in the hospital!
Okay, so hear me out, when people first hear that I recently saw Spongebob on Broadway, they laugh and say something about how “I can’t believe Broadway would do something so dumb!” but it was, honestly, amazing. A lot of different things made it special for me. I’m not from the states, but when we first moved here, we lived in NYC for a couple years, but had to move because it was getting too expensive with my parents lower income jobs. I missed the city so, so much. I’ve been able to visit once or twice, but I had never been able to stay long or do anything special like go to Broadway. I am lucky enough to have a decent career going with my boyfriend and we spent two weeks in the city, and the only show that was available the last day was Spongebob, and so my boyfriend surprised me with tickets to it. Almost front row seats. I had already cried from doing things I would do when I was a child and living in the city that I missed, but Broadway? I sobbed like a baby to him! I love musicals and the city, I was so lucky. However.. My first thought about the musical being Spongebob was a bit “really? I know Broadway is good but.. this could end up cringe..” as most people thought. I was excited still, Spongebob being a staple show from my childhood. We get there after waiting in the long, long line going through Times Square for about an hour or so. The decorations and lighting and such were so beautiful. The walls and ceiling were mostly white but they had this beautiful mix of green and blue and teal like we were truly underwater. It was so pretty. There were pool noodles, bubbles, sparkles, beach balls, all of it so cute and pretty. There’s a mini band to the side playing quirky Spongebob themed music, all dressed up in tropical t-shirts and khaki shorts. Then it starts! There’s the opening that introduces the characters, of course, but when the opening song starts I was in awe. There was amazing dancing, so many intricate and adorable outfits, and there was this beautiful, beautiful mermaid ‘swimming’ (held up by wire of course) at the top. I’m still in shock. The plot of the musical was that the apocalypse was coming, an underwater volcano was going to explode, oh no! At the sides of the stage, they had a bunch of stuff set up that confused watchers but would later shoot ‘boulders’ (things like soccer balls) at the characters. My favorite parts would have to be that opening song, Planktons rap (it was great. He had this amazing dance break down and rap, I was shocked at how amazing the dancing was while he was belting out words, oh my god! As someone who dances and definitely cannot sing so loudly doing so, major, major props to him), then there was Squidwards solo.. Oh good lord, it was wonderful. They made it so he had four legs, of course, but it was a TAP DANCE and singing performance! It was so spectacular. He has a beautiful sparkling suit on that shined as he danced and sang. It was wonderful. When the show closed, all of the sudden there were canons everywhere shooting streamers of all sorts of colors and then.. bubbles! Everywhere! It was so beautiful! I managed to grab blue, green, and yellow streamers, and even got my playbill signed by some of the main actors. It was. Amazing. I don’t know what else to say. Just. Breathtaking. I think I’ve talked far too much already, so I’ll stop now, but if you get the chance somehow, please watch it. It’s so worth it.
A very generous cat on our street blessed me with its presence and I got the benefit of watching it lay there for a whole 20 minutes before it trotted away. I was a very happy hooman.
The USO paid for the tickets and the drill sergeants distributed them. USO & Wounded Warrior Project does a lot for active and retired soldiers because I know first hand what they do.
The first concert I ever went to was an All Time Low concert. My friend had an extra ticket and while I didn't know the band, I just wanted to go to a concert so I was like heck yeah! It was quite a few years ago so I don't remember every detail but I do remember the best part. During the concert there was a line of really tall guys in front of us. At some point I was like 'screw it imma go for it' and I tapped one of them and was like "hey could you guys help me body surf?" So they hoisted me up and I body surfed all the way to the front and it was lit.
When I was in middle school I was entered into this “talent show” that was held for my district and I did not know I was entered until the exact day of the event. So, being a kid at age 9 I tend to like to bring my hula hoop around (that was like a trend in my country somehow) and so even tho there wasn’t much talent involved but I did used to perform cool tricks with my hula hoop (my skills were pretty dope then). I also went to ask around the other people that were entered into the event and they were either “I don’t know my mum made me do this” or “of course I wanted to show everyone my talent”. It was a disaster when the event started, can you imagine a bunch of kids not knowing what to do any just doing a bunch of random stuff and calling it their talent? Let me list those down for you if you can’t imagine. -a guy played chess with himself (I don’t even know how to start with this) -a guy recited a poem that he wrote himself (I didn’t understand a word, it was also in Chinese, which made it worse but I’m Chinese) -a bunch of clueless people like me that did hula hooping (because what else right?) -some little girls did the catwalk (don’t ask me why) -a bunch of hip hop wannabes that ended up wiping the floors or just purely hopping for 5 minutes Long story short it was a disaster, I can’t imagine having to sit through that as an adult. Anyway, so when my name was called I “performed” with 3 hula hoops the kind that has water in it because it was the cooler hula hoops back in the days ??♀️ did some tricks like the kind where you hula them up your neck and transfer them to your arms and what on ya know. I hula those hoops for 5 minutes I tell you those were the longest 5 minutes of my life and they didn’t even gave me a complete stop of the music they just CUT IT OFF like half way through the music basically like “yea we’re done you can like get off the stage by yourself yea thanks” so I was in shock and confused when that happened and I did a awkward little run off the stage to my mum. And for that performance I got first runner up. I was shocked but I got a new backpack and a trophy for that so the embarrassment didn’t stick for Long. Oh not forgetting poem guy won. No body could believe that but than again a confused hula hooping kid did win second place too so I could say they didn’t have much to choose from. At least chess guy was very proud of his performance. He could remember very well that he was very unhappy he didn’t win and was whining that he did very well on stage. Maybe one day he’ll win that trophy. ?
i’m not gonna participate in this but i’ll just leave my very first concert experience here just because. this is also mostly just gonna be about how i got my bum to a concert anyway so..... back then when i was about 13, i was a huge fan of one direction (no regrets till today tbh, had the time of my life in the fandom & all). i was in school when i got to know that they were coming to my country during their world stadium tour in ‘15 and i was eXCITED. but because i didn’t have the money to get a ticket & stuff, i had to use some connections. my mom had a friend who really liked me so he has the habit to buy me whatever i wanted. so i turned on my good child mode and asked him if he could get me a ticket to the concert. as expected, he said yes (yAY). a few days later when i got the message from my mom that i was gonna go see them, ya girl was standing in the middle of the foyer at school bawling her eyes out with her friends facepalming at her reason for the sudden waterworks. fast forward to the day of the concert, i was walking FAST, sister. people might’ve seen me and thought i was the road runner. when i reached the stadium, went through the bag check and went to my seat (i was sad that i couldn’t get the standing ticket but it’s alright we were still breathing the same air & stuff i was c o n t e n t.) the boys were 40 mins late & all (fashionably late, i understand) but when their stadium tour trailer came on the big screen, the stadium was full of screams and squeals. and then... they came onto the stage. i lost my marbles, lost my calm, and lost myself. that night was the first night i actually lost my voice. i was screaming, and crying and i was singing off key to their songs. (i lost all footage of me sounding like an embarrassment idk if i should feel happy or upset) sadly i had to leave early because i had school the next day, but i bought a shirt at the merch store (i still have it ?) and after spamming my gallery with photos of me with the 1d cardboard standee(?), i went home having the worst PCD but i felt content. (moral of the story: u gotta do what u gotta do to get whatchu want - even if it means having to suck up to people for tickets. :lol
Ooooo around two weeks ago I went to a Kendrick Lamar (my fav!!!) concert...he was performing along with the rest of TDE for the TDE Championship Tour....it was so cool idk where to even start. All the artists did amazing and put a lot of effort in and the sets were lit af. They all performed their new, relevant music, along w old hits. Oh and TDE partnered w Nike for their tour so each artist specialized in a different sport and had ‘player stats’ showing in the back. Schoolboy literally entered the stage on a golf cart lmao since his thing was golf. And during Jay Rock’s set, the Top Dawg mascot was tryna shoot hoops ? he made like one out of three. I bought vip tickets so I was about 20 ft away, so super close, and saw all the cool little stuff and I’m still shook. It was really such a great experience. ^_^ even tho my bank account looks a lil rough now
