Death. He had come for me. At last... he was here. Beside me. In front of me. Inside me. It wad my time now... I was only ten when he first came to visit me. I was in the hospital and on the brink of death. He had come to me... he did bring me back with him... Instead he made me well again... I remember it still... that day... "I see you're not doing so well Kyrie," said a low and gentle voice. I couldn't lift my head to see who it was. "Father? Doctor?" I asked. I turned my head slightly towards the window. It was dark outside, but just barely... the sun had probably just dipped below the horizon seconds before. The sky still had a small hint of pink and orange, but if you looked a little higher, the sky was a deep blue, nearly black. "I am not your father or doctor," said the voice again. I suddenly felt anxious, but I knew it would pain me too much to raise my head to see who it was. "Who are you?" I asked. "Someone." "Please come to me..." I said weakly. My heart began to race in my chest and I suddenly felt weak inside... was I dying? A figure came over to me. I watched as the figure came and sat on my bed. It was a man. A handsome man. He had dark hair that fell into his eyes and dark and endless eyes. There was no emotion on his face and he showed no signs of him being human at all. It was like he was a doll or something. "Who...?" "You know who I am," he said and he smiled. His smile seemed innocent and warm... but it was not. I could see that it was full of cruelty. "Death..." I whispered. "Correct," he replied. "So it is my time," I said softly. "My time to die has come, hasn't it? That is why you are here?" "No. I am here to save you," he said and he lightly touched my chest. "Save me? Isn't Death supposed to take me away? Aren't you supposed to take me to the next world?" "Though you are dying... it's not your time," he said. "What?" I asked. Suddenly I felt a pain in my chest where he had touched. "My heart...!" "I can give life just as easily as I can take it away," he explained. "You're well again," he said. "Next time... it will be your time. Be ready... as it is soon. Don't be angry when I come for you," he said. He turned to leave. I sat up... I couldn't believe that I could... He truly was Death. "I'm not afraid of dying!" I shouted at him. "I'm not afraid of you taking my life away..." He smirked and chuckled. "Believe me, child... you will be," he said and he disappeared into the darkness. I did. I feared the thought of him coming back and taking me away. He haunted my dreams and my mind could never forget his words. My time was soon. How soon? Would I get to live my life? Fall in love? How soon was... soon?
Amazing writer as always. I haven't checked fanfiction in so long. I wonder what other stories I missed. >.>
