  1. A "sociopath" isn't real. It's a term people made up but it's not a real thing. You can have ASPD yeah that's real but a sociopath is FALSE

    Change my mind ☕???

  2. This thread will end up getting locked.
    Change ye mind

  3. Shhh it'll be lovely while it last

  4. Pretty sure those are the same thing

  5. Sociopath = aspd
    Aspd ≠ sociopath

You will not find sociopath or psychopath in the diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders
Which is the book that list any and all mental illnesses, which means a doctor won't dianose you as a sociopath. It's a term people made up and from medial standpoint its not real.

  6. I use a lot of politically incorrect terms.

    Whatcha gonna do about it?

  7. Be upset

  8. That's your right, as long as you respect mine I shall respect yours.

  9. I only respect you when you agree with me

  10. That's not nice, but you don't have to respect me.

    Just my rights

  11. I only respect your rights when you agree with me

  12. Now you sound like ata

  13. How'd you know what I was going for

  14. I dunno but I've been called a sociopath before on multiple occasions

  15. We’ve talked a lot about sociopaths/sociopathy in my psychology classes lately because of the whole Jake Paul thing lately lmao so here’s my breakdown of it;

It’s actually not a made up term, it’s simply used instead of “secondary psychopathy” (which is what it is referred to professionally speaking) since using the s.p. term would cause people to assume it’s the same as primary psychopathy.

Sociopathy/Secondary psychopathy goes hand in hand with ASPD because if the individual is diagnosed, whether they be high or low functioning, they will receive that as their diagnosis. However, that does not mean sociopathy/s.p. isn’t real. If it weren’t real, primary psychopathy wouldn’t be real either, which isn’t the case. They’re more so subsets of disorders in a way.

  16. I'll label if I wish.
    Have a good day, Muppet

  17. But you wouldn't get diagnosed as a sociopath and that's my point

  18. Well yeah, but people can be labeled as secondary psychopaths/sociopaths professionally speaking, and helped for their sociopathic tendencies since tendencies don’t always equal an entire disorder yet.

It just isn’t passed as it’s own diagnosis due to it overlapping with too many other disorders.

  19. That's the entire point of this conversation you cannot be clinically diagnosed as a sociopath/psychopath, you can't because it's not a legitimate medical term like it's not a by the book mental illness

  20. You can be diagnosed with psychopathy. That's what primary psychopathy is. "Sociopathy" is the layman's term for secondary psychopathy.
