Born Differently

I was born on January 19, 2002 in the Philippines. I was named Kimberly Valdez and I had a big brother named Bryan. When I was about 5 or 6 me and my family went to the beach. My uncle told me that he was going to a picture of me and my dad, but I looked afraid.

"Come on, Kimberly, look at the camera." My dad said, but I didn't pay attention. I was looking at my other uncle, Julio, and my cousins who were swimming in the water and splashing each other.

My finger was in my mouth and I still looked afraid. My uncle finally took the picture when I looked towards the camera while my finger was still in my mouth. He laughed and showed me the picture he took.

"Come on people! Let's start eating!" My mom, Myrna or Mina, said to us and my dad picked me up and sat me down. My mom started to get food for me that was set on the table. I started to eat and it was my turn to swim.

My mom was holding me when we were in the water because I was too little to learn how to swim. I would drown if I swam when no one was with me.

*Ten minutes later*

My mom picked me up and we went where my family were. She grabbed some of my clothes, grabbed me, and went into the bathroom so I could change. My other clothes were wet.

"Hands up, Kimberly." My mom said grabbing my shirt off a chair. I put my hands up and she started to put my shirt on me.

When she was done changing me and we were outside with our family, I ate my left over.

*One hour later*

"It's time to go home." My mom said who was putting my wet clothes in a plastic bag.

I got in the car, and fell asleep.


*Two hours and ten minutes later*

"Kimberly, wake up!" I woke up and saw that we were home. I went in my room and fell asleep.



*Two years later*


I was about like 7 or 8 years old. My aunt, Ludy, had a baby and her name was Lovelyn. I thought the name was cute.

When I got to see her, she was little and cute. I played with my little cousin while my uncle Julio went to work.
