Prologue: Ben's POV•••••• ••••••••••••••••••• Her eyes are so wild and blue, it makes my stomach tie up in knots. She's always staring at the sky. Oh, what I'd pay to know what she was looking for. I hadn't gotten to talk to her for real since I'd gotten back in Montana. I sure did miss her wild blue eyes. Jesse's POV••••• ••••••••••••••••••••• You know that feeling when you get a tooth pulled at the dentist? How you feel all drunk and dizzy from the laughing gas? That's how it feels having him back in my life. I feel like a bird in a cage, wanting to see the world, but not being able to get out. But, then again, maybe I missed his green eyes full of adventure. Chapter 1•••••••••••••• •••••••••••••••••••••••••• Jesse's POV. ••••••••••••••••••••••••• The tears flew out of my eyes the first time I saw him, sitting there on the tailgate of his sister's green truck. I remember running inside and slamming my door shut. Now, I don't feel any better. And it's been a whole month. "Jess, can we just talk?" He mumbles under his breath, pulling me aside as I walk home from work one day. "Ben Alan Tanner. You haven't came home since Tam died. I know you're hiding something, now get your hands off of me!" I snap, ripping myself free of his grasp. He puts his hands on the back of my neck and pulls me close to him, so our noses almost touch and I feel his breath on my bottom lip. "Ok, maybe I am hiding something."
