Egg. Eggs have been around much longer than chickens as a species.

The Easter Bunny is the real Jesus and the dude they think was resurrected is just a nicely toned imposter. The eggs used to be where he hid his religious teachings- he would crack them open when he was ready to drop some spiritual knowledge on someone. Duh.
