Do you use a traditional bank or an online/mobile bank? If you switched from traditional to mobile, how do you feel it benefits you? What are the cons?
Keeping it under the mattress is something a lot of elderly people in the U.S. do, because of the time period (Great Depression era) they were raised. I'm not sure if I know anyone that isn't a baby boomer that doesn't use a bank in some shape or form.
I'm tryna figure out whether I should stick with my current bank, or switch over to mobile banking (I feel it'd be more efficient for me with my daily lifestyle). But idk..
Can you do both? My bank allows me to do both, from the same bank account. The bank has an app that I can use for banking, and since my work doesn't give paycheques as direct deposit I can still go to my physical bank to cash the cheques. That might be something to look into.
My bank had an app, but they recently shut it down and it won't be back up until late september I think what I might do is have a mobile bank (like cash app) for spending money and then just keep my savings in my traditional bank? Maybe
I think the only cons with a mobile bank would be the waiting time between deposits and not being able to go to the bank atm in an emergency. You'd end up having to keep more cash on hand. I've been debating switching from a nationwide bank to a credit union and the convenience of many things would be missing if I was out of town and in trouble has kept me from doing it.
That sounds like it would be a good idea in the meantime. I still recommend returning to your bank's official app when it is reintroduced, but I haven't really used any mobile-only banks like PayPal or Cash App to see how convienent or secure they are.
I use two banks. One holds my cash and is my "untouchable" account. It doesn't have that many ATMs around so I'm not so tempted. (might also want to hide your debit card) The other one is my "spending bank". I've enrolled in a checking account which I connected to a mobile banking app. Checkbooks are very useful for important regular payments so you can keep track of it. Mobile banking is great because you can pay your bills which saves a lot of time and hassle. You can easily transfer money (depends on your bank though). You can top up several services (also depends on bank and app). It's also safer and more secure to go cashless when you can. Hope that helps.
I use traditional bank, but I do a lot of mobile transactions, such as loading bus card, paying phone bill... PS: my bank has a web and an app. You just reminded me that I literally have to loan my bus card.
