Army Of The Raiders By Percyous I woke up in my cell thinking about how I had been locked up for a fight in a tavern, it wasn't my fault that he deserved it! I may have knocked out every single one of his teeth but he had it coming! As I stood infron of my cot I decided to move it since being this close to the wall I could hear the person in the next room over, I didn't want to. As I moved the cot I blinked to confirm what my eyes told me, there was a trapdoor where my cot had been. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I am looking for collaberators so pm me if interested, tell me what I should do differently, by the way i know this was short but it will be longer and more interesting next update, be ready.
Try not to use run-on sentences so much. Also proofread. It may seem like a waste of time, but trust me it's worth it.
I climbed down the ladder and saw a sighn, I brushed dust from it and made it readable. It said "You are here because it's either this, prison or death. You were smart enough to get here so you are smart enough to fight, your rank will be determined by the obsticalals that lay ahead, if you fail any you will either be killed, put back in prison, put on a farm or put in a mine. Ahead is a cafeteria area, comunicate with no one until told you can by your squad leader. Proceed." I walked into the next room and found a huge cafeteria area full of ex-convicts who each had meat and water. It was a room made out of stone and with what looked like no exits except the cell doors, I turned around to check and saw that my door was locked and couldn't be opened from this side. I figured I might as well get some food. We were all locked inside.
As I sat down to eat I dug hungrily into my steak, I had only been served gruel for the past day, just as I finished sections of the floor rose and formed a stairway to a doorway that had just appeared along with the stairway, I gulped down my water and was on the other side of the room next to the stairs in five seconds. I pushed a random guy in first, when nothing happened to him I immediatly rushed in not wanting to be left behind when I saw a sighn saying to proceed. As we came to a clearing we saw there were different paths, each with a sighn above it, they said "Miner" "Fisher" "Farmer" "Soilder" "Engineer" "Blacksmith" "Exlosives" "Vehicles" and "Turn back( last chance)" I immediatly went through the soilder doorway knowing they wanted us to choose what we were good at and would be doing. It was time to begin training. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ By the way the first chapter was called "The Door", still open to collaberaters.
As I stared into the giant pit with stepping stones every few feet I knew I could easily beat it, but as I looked behind me I knew some wouldn't. I leapt from stone to stone every few feet and looked down to relize that there was a fall mat at the bottem, but they were now doomed. I kept going and reached the end right after a few other guys. As we stepped into the next room we saw bows and targets about thirty yards away each. I picked up a bow and used the five arrows next to it and landed only headshots and heartshots. A door opened next to my shooting range and I went inside. In the next room there was a row of dummies and a sword. I picked it up and quickly decapitated each dummy. This went on until I had done every weopon known. But then there was another sighn that said "You made it this far. You have two options. Quit while you're ahead or take an elite's test and make yourself possible to being in an elite team and possibly gaining a high enough rank to receive command if a platoon. I took the logical non-risky choice.
I was staring at the jetpack and blaster they had given me. Little to no instruction yet I felt like I had made this weopon. I skillfully operated the jetpack to the small ledge then fired my blaster and blew a hole in the mountin infront of me revealing a tunnel, using up my one explosive charge and passing the first part if the elites test. The next part was a written exam. It tested my knowledge on both strategy, odds, weopons, and what outcomes to expect/plan for etc. I finished just intime. I sighned my name and the bunk number (I had been assighned earlier by some machine) then I walked to the barracks that I still hadn't seen. It was huge and was divided into sections. As I sat on my bed I looked at the shipment I had gotten that was inside a minecart that was used for deliveries. I knew it was mine because this bed had my name on it and the cart came with the bed. It was a letter, but that was it, other than the other members of my temporary squad that had gotten there just as I was going through my cart. I read the letter and sat on my bed while wondering when the silence order would be removed. The letter said: "Dear Percyous, you passed everything with flying colors, show the seal on the outside of this letter to the gaurd in the morning then he will show you to my office. We will then discuss your uniform and rank. Remember, only show it to the gaurd, and don't speak. General Sanji
Chapter 3: The Transfer Percyous' POV That night I kept the letter under my pillow and slept with one eye open. First thing in the morning I walked up to the gaurd and showed him the seal. Another gaurd immediatly appears the first gaurd show me to another door and I went inside. Inside I found a blond man dressed in a black suit wearing a same color tie shifting through some papers. He looked up and motioned for me to sit and for the gaurd to leave. "I am Sanji, General, and I am pleased to finally meet you Percyous." He said with a winning smile, he was a charmer. I could deal with a charmer. I smiled back and held out my hand not willing to break the silence rule. "No hello?" he asked looking back up after shaking my hand with a smaller humouras snile dancing on his lips. I zipped my lips and tucked away the key to show him I meant buisness. "Haha! Ok, fine, you are released" he says. I still refused to talk. The sighn said the duty would be relieved by my squad leader, I wasn't talking till that happens.
"Ah, a smart one. Well would you just nod and shake your head to say yes or no while I ask you some questions?" I nodded and he immediatly began with "Will you be a spy for me? Make sure everything is up to code and going well on the squad I assighn you to, but I warn you, they are a long way away, stationed at a beach base." I nod knowing that it's a base that has never seen any action, looks like I would be working as a grunt. After he promised to promote me after my job is finished I walked back only to find a map of the barracks and a circle on it indocating my squad. I heard talking around me and kept silent because I hadn't been released, everything I had was already moved to the new spot so I set off to find my squad.
Chapter 4: The New Squad Percyous' POV I stood packing the few things I had into a suitcase they provided, we were going to a ceromony then heading off. I put on my Bronze Armour, slung my bow and arrows over my shoulder and hung my sword at my side. I had polished them last night as had everyone. We marched to the rally point in parade position, our squad was one of the last squads in our platoon (ten squads). Aswe filed into the Rally point we all stood at attention and saluted the general as he stepped onstage. We were given our general orders which were to protect the vases that would be uses for the future rebellion. If we had been stationed in/ close to the city we would have had to return to base when the signal (The burning of the town hall) happened through a secret tunnel entrance, but we weren't. After the ceromony we marched to a train station got in the train and were shiped to a beach villiage. Then we marched five miles to a spot in the sand where the platoon leader stopped us, typed something into his command tablet and the sand dropped away and formed stairs down into the earth.
As we went down into the hole we were amazed by a huge base with a huge barracks, a reck room, a cart system just like the one at HQ. We were told to write our own sighns so we did. The platoon leader immediatly put our engineers and miners to work. The blacksmiths began to set up shop in the forge. Each night code says you have to have your armour swords and bows along with arrows turned in and cleaned. We easily kept up with this since we had no action. But then one day a messenger came by and alerted us that the fight was on. The Commander was claiming all the land as his and some villages fought back. Our villiage soon did the same and blocked the tracks which started to starve us even though they didn't know it thanks to them we were hungry and probobly missing missions. Until the Colonal had us prepare for a nightraid to take back the villiage.
As we crept through the darkness the chosen archery squads at back with thier bows ready, then........ All h*** broke loose. We shot a warning volley at them. But as we charged flaming arrows were shot back. I luckily made it to the building unharmed. Time to continue. I ran into the first house I saw and saw a woman and child huddled in a corner with a man infront of them shakily pointing a sword my way. I batted the sword away and grabbed his neck collar. "Sorry." I said as I punched his daylights out and left. To my surprise the flag squad (The platoon leader/Colonal 's squad) was pulling women and children out and forcing captured and wounded enemies to watch as they poured gasoline over the innocent civilians. I immideatly ran and stoped the soilder with the gasoline. "What are you doing!?!?!?!?! They'll probobly just surrendure! Half of em already have! Let em go!" "Not my descision, talk to the Colonal." I immediatly ran over to him and yelled pretty much the same thing at him. He brought out his lighter and prepared to turn it on. "Get outa my way grunt, we're gonna teach them a lesson" he said as he tossed the lighter at the huddle of terrified civilians.
I slowly edged into the room. It was dark, pitch black. I grabbed my flashlight and quickly scanned the room. Then I grinned. "Really?" I said. "That all you got?" The panels on the floor looked like regular cobblestones, but I knew that most were traps. I quickly danced across them, narrowly avoiding several arrows, but made it to the other side and pressed the large red button on the wall. The room was suddenly flooded with lights, and a woman entered through a side door, carrying a clipboard. "That was your best time yet," she said. I straightened my ponytail. "So am I good enough yet?" The woman nodded curtly. "The Leader wants to see you to give you you're mission." I crossed my arms and walked over to her. "Since when does he give missions personally?" "Since now," the woman said, and left the room. I followed her. <><><><><><><><><><><><> "Hello," the Leader said. She was the head of the mansion where all spies are trained. I merely nodded a greeting. "I here you are the best of the best. Your trainer says you beat the record for the Maze again." "Yes ma'am." I said quietly. "Well you are going to be stationed at a base near a beach." I raised my eyebrows in surprise. I thought I may be infiltrating an enemy government or something equally important. "Consider it your last test." The Leader sat at her desk. "The general tells me their are several problems there which we want you to investigate. Certain policies and protocols are not being followed." I nodded. Of course, I thought. If soldiers weren't following orders, well, that would be bad. "Do you have any questions?" I hesitated, then said, "No ma'am." "Then go pack. You leave the mansion tomorrow morning." I left her office and walked down the lavishly decorated halls of the mansion. I passed several other woman, all in various stages of training, before I got to my room. I grabbed the suitcase from under my bed, and tossed in the few outfits I own. That's all I had to pack. I have nothing else. I sat on my bed and looked at the clock. Ten fifteen, the hands pointed to. Now all I had to do was wait for morning.
Percyous's POV Ireached up and caught the lighter, ignoring the flame licking at my hand I crushed the lighter in my hand and let it fall to ground. I unclasped my sword from my waist, unhooked my chestplate and threw it to the ground. "You want to harm them you go through me. The code says no killing innocent civilians." "Yes but it also says follow supirior's orders grunt." I answered him by walking towards him with my fists raised. He swung his sword downward but I grabbed his wrist and stoped the attack. I then punched him in his stomech, then I picked him up and threw him into a wooden house. I found him inside among the wall boards that had been broken when he crashed through the wall. I picked him up by his throat and carried him back outside then threw him down into the sand. "Anyone else want to challenge my logic?" I asked as they began to help up the civilians and disarm any supporters of the Colonel.
The next morning a train took me to the base. When I got there, the base was in chaos. "Excuse me," I tried to stop a soldier to ask him what was going on. "EXCUSE ME!" One stopped. "Yes miss?" "What's happening?" "There's been a kind of mutiny. This high ranking soldier took control of several things." I sighed. This is what the Leader meant, I thought. "Who are you anyway? There aren't any girls on base." the soldier asked me. "I'm new," I showed him the papers I had been given while on the train. The soldier sighed. "Well I'd better take you to the new commander. He can tell you where to go." And he led the way. If this base is this crazy, how am I supposed to restore order? I'm just a spy, we didn't learn anything like this. I've got my work cut out for me.
