And big. The biggest are 30-40 meters tall. Me and my friends are currently leading a resistance but we can't stop them not yet anyway.

Mostly the human population is dead. In the first day I lost my whole family. At that point I swore revenge. Then they killed my best friend while he was helping evacuate a building. And to pour salt on the cut the destroyed his body. Now it comes down to me and a rebel force I lead. We train new recruits to use basic weapons and good soldiers get advanced training. My friend was one of them.

The two most recent recruits are John and Macalya Shea. They have different abilities though. John is a cougar-human recombinet and Macalya has an ability to grow to huge sizes to at any given time. Mostly they stay with me so they don't get hurt. And I'm ok with that.

Though theres one person I left out. Her name is Vanessa Creek and she is beautiful. I noticed her before but now it's easy to see and she is totally chill girl. At least that's what I thought. U see war destroys everything but I swear I'll die protecting her. She's a human-wolf recombient and it's cool when she becomes more wolf like and able to do things most humans can't. But I need to stay on topic. War sucks and every time we fight we lose. Wish us luck......We need it.
If there was a such thing as hell on the moon this was it. We were unprepared and in the open. There were refugees everywhere. We couldn't be in a worse situation until we got a visit from a couple dozen big ones. I had no veteran soldiers with me only rookies but I had to save the refugees. "Get the refugees to safety first" I yelled so that everyone in my swiss could hear. "On it" replied the Shea twins simultaneously. We all got moving helping refugees and getting ready to fight. I turned to start attacking the beasts but before I could I saw what most people wouldn't see.
You see Im a bird-human mustn't so I have raptor vision so I was shocked at what I saw. A teen who looked a bit younger than me fighting for his life against one of the beasts. I immediately attacked the beast he was fighting after about 30 seconds of flying and got him away safely and back to the main zone. It was a panic scene. The Shea twins were doing there best to keep them under control and Vanessa was helping to by defending parts of the LZ. Suddenly a helicopter appeared and I knew that it would pick up the refugees but it was getting attacked by the beasts. We saw it get hit and our only hope die with it.
I learnt the boy I founds name was Danny. He was something out of like a Twilight book half vampire half werewolf.But that didn't matter we were on our own protecting a hundred or so refugees with 5 men against these giant beasts. And then I saw what we needed to do. I started telling everyone to get ready to move when I started distracting them. I unfurled my wings again. They were 14 feet long with dark brown med black feathers. This got the monsters attention they attacked me and I flew up as soon as I did the refugees moved and as soon as they got to safety I followed. Unfortunately someone was missing. Vanessa.
I just about died inside when I realized she was missing. I thought to myself if ...no when I find her I wouldn't let her out of my sight. And trust me that's something coming from me.The twins were fine and so was Danny but Vanessa was missing. I couldn't stop thinking about it how it was my fault. But id fight back. I had received and additional squad of regular men to help me and the marveled at the fact we and survived.We went into a flanking action of the LZ towards the helicopter to see if there were survivors. There weren't and then I found something I wish I didn't. I had found a wolf claw.
