Sleep Paralysis: A temporary inability to move or speak while falling asleep or upon waking. I've been getting it for a while. It's scary and annoying. Does anybody else deal with it? I don't want to be the only one. ?
Just try moving your toes best you can. Once you do move your feet, then you'll be fine. Takes awhile to get used to but once you got it, no issue
When you fall asleep, your body goes into temporary paralysis to prevent it from rolling away or prevent stuff like sleep walking. Sleep paralysis happens when your brain wakes up earlier than your body does so you become aware of the whole paralysis thing. A lot of scary things happen during this time because I think you're semi-conscious when it happens but your mind is racing. Sleep paralysis makes you feel like you are suffocating so a lot of the "nightmares" seem to be related to that.
The closest thing I know to that is when I've been lying down for too long and I get up abruptly, them the room goes dark , my legs fold and I fall to the floor. However I can get up after 30 seconds or so.
I've experienced it many times, its like the scary version of lucid dreaming. Like I usually see a girl shadow while I'm sleeping in my room in the dark, then I feel pressure on my chest and all I can move is my toes and arms and I can't speak
Happens to me all the time.I got use to it eventually but when it happens I usually pretend I'm a butterfly metamorphosing and it'll all get better xDD
I get it at least 1-2 times a week. Sometimes I get paralyzed and when I finally wake up and tries to close my eyes again I get paralyzed for the second time and then it happens again until I have no choice but to get out of bed because it just keeps on happening. The feeling of having a hard time breathing and not being able to move terrifies me.
I get it almost every night. Listen to Ralph Smarts view on it on YouTube. It's really a great experience.
