What's up chat? After the events of ATA Day and how all of that went down, a thought crossed my mind. Most mobile games have an in-app purchase function that CAN be used to help a player progress farther and faster in a game. There is another game that I play that also has sort of a pay to win aspect when it comes to events and such. Of course the community gets upset sometimes but for the most part everyone knows that the devs are in it for the money and we at this point aren't surprised anymore. I think it becomes a problem when you as a company preach about how much you value your community of players and what they think, how they feel. Wanting to give your community something to be excited about and giving back to those who ya know... essentially put food in the mouths of the devs families. I think it muddies the waters when you have devs saying one thing and taking "suggestions" and then completely disregarding it like usual to do what you planned to do anyway which is put things behind a paywall and make in-app purchase the bulk of it and basically say screw your suggestions. The game I'm talking about doesn't even take suggestions Fr lol because they know straight up they're gonna put their items behind a paywall and it's gonna be an expensive one. But guess what, at least they are respected by the community cause we know exactly what we're getting with them. So far with Pimd it always feels like a bit of a disappointment and an expectation of something different because devs or whoever just can't admit they want the bread 💸💸 I respect a mf hustle but don't be tryna act like you care fr.
Have you given the AMA answers a read? I felt like it gave some valuable behind-the-scenes insight. I do genuinely think the devs care about making their players happy, even if at the end of the day it is a business and they're looking to turn a profit. And I don't think those things necessarily need to be mutually exclusive. Happy players (customers) will spend more money, and they want feedback from players to ensure players are staying happy and are willing to spend money.
