A Thief Without Reason

  1. Okay all! Here's my new story! It's a completely different genre!

    *Roma, Italy 1519*

All you can hear is the wind, at the speed I run over the rooftop. I'm so light on my feet you can not even guess that I'm wearing a heavy dagger in my small sheathe.

My name is Adamo, and I am a thief, and a very skilled one. I would not be, but I am poor, and I can not pick myself up from the little fortune I have. Although, this profession has earned me a unique set of skills.

You haft to be able to defend yourself, and you haft to be able to climb. You haft to be very agile, and can't have fear. I am very skilled at this.

Anyways, I'm very tall, at 6'1". I'm very strong, but I look slim under the cloak I wear. I have a golden tan, and a small mustache and beard. My hair is long as a sign of my pride, but tied back for quicker movement without hair in my face.

"Catch him!" The man yelled as he chased after me. He was not very quick, for he was a carrying a long sword and heavy armor.

I would fight, but it's five to one. I can't take that risk. So, I keep running. The rooftop splits up ahead. I jumped and barely caught the other rooftop with my right hand. The guard fell as he couldn't make the jump.

I pulled myself up with pure strength, and with my adrenaline pumping, I pressed on. I started climbing down the building, and got down to the ground.

I pulled my hood up, and pickpocketed those of who I knew were rich. I do not pickpocket the poor, as I share their malevolent luck. They never notice until I'm gone.

As I walked down the street, I stopped at a local foodtrader. I bought some bread for myself with the money I stole. There were some children who weren't fed, so I spent my last florins on 3 loaves for them and their mother as they needed it more.

I was a generous man, and do not believe in letting the less fortunate, even less fortunate than me, starve. I pulled down my hood as I looked into the skyline, letting the sun on my slim, yet handsomely chiseled face.

Looking at the beautiful scenery, I looked around at the buildings of stone, with the most modern architecture we have. I was planning my next move.

That when a hand dropped on my shoulder, and I looked behind me to see a man. Taller than me, and I quickly took note to everything about him. His wears, his broad face, and even broader shoulders. Even his hands.

I already knew his whole anatomy, he didn't even take notice to my dagger I presume. He was not armed, and looked about 60 years of age. Old, very old. He started to speak.

"Listen to me, I know your profession." He said in a rough voice, "I used to do the same thing, and I can offer you better. How would you like to learn?"

I was taken aback. I was shocked at this proposition. I was a second chance it seems. I was going to take it.

"Sí, I'd enjoy that very much." I said with the utmost excitement.

What is he talking about? I do not know. I will find out. I was being offered a chance to redeem myself I believe. I was prepared to do it.

    *Out of story*

Okay, I want your thoughts. I'm really enjoying writing this, and the words are coming easy to me. Tell me if you like it, it's very different. It is partially inspired by Assassin's Creed. Tell me if I should continue. Thanks!

  10. Okay, here's your update! :)

"Come with me." The man said waving me in his direction. I followed happily, and listened intently as he explained.

"I am a peacekeeper. How I induce peace is killing those who obstruct it." He said it so calmly, as if it was a normal thing.

"So, you're an Assassin?" I blurted out.

"Yes, partly. Only if you wish to think of me in that way. We are very proud of our order. We will do anything to get these guards out of Roma. We have worked very hard over the years. Help us, with your skill. You will be a valuable asset."

"I would love to help. But, I do not know if I am skilled enough." I said in honesty.

"We will teach you. Your training will prepare you."

"I accept, and with honor. I am proud to serve insegnante." I said with a proudness I have yet to come across until now.

We walked along until we came to a very large, metal gate. It looked very sturdy, and built to keep out any who may endeavor to trespass. It opened up to a courtyard, where people were fighting with swords.

Some people were throwing knives, and training with axes as well. But it was joyful, people were happy. Everyone was well fed, and very strong.

I picked up a knife on the ground where a man was beckoning for me to give it to him. I threw it, sticking it in a nearby wooden post only about a half an inch thick. The man seemed startled, yet pleasantly surprised.

I smirked, and enjoyed my accomplishment which was accommodated with much praise. As I walked in the courtyard, I noticed there were statues set up, made in worship to ancestors who have formed this order.

It was riveting, with the beautiful villa that stood before me, the sturdy blockades set up to keep out infantry. It was truly a magnificent sight only a stupid man could not appreciate.

I belonged here, and I knew it. The man I was walking with started to speak. I was happy to listen.

"We will train you here. You will learn balance, fighting, strength, and most important of all, honor. All the actions you make will reflect this trait, and you will be responsible for what will become of it." What's does he mean? I guess I will find out.

"I will meastro. I will." I said in respect.

"Good, training will start now. Do not underestimate your opponent. You may find yourself matched."

"I will not." I said bowing.

I walked over to a man holding out a sword made out of the finest metal. It was very beautifully made. I took it, and flipped it to where I was holding the handle.

Time to train. I thought as I started to get in stance. I could see the seriousness in which he took this. A very honorable man. It was time to train.

Bump for more! I love you all! :) Tell me your thoughts.
