So, when you write your stories, how do you write them? Do you write it as it rolls off the top of your head, or write with careful planning? Do you have folders and folders full of different pieces of paper with ideas, or one scrap piece of paper with a title? Just wonderin'. Personally, I use the PlainText app. It's free, simple to use, and very good. It allows me to arrange different ideas into categories, and easily edit what I already have. It lets me carefully write what I want, and allows me to change something when I want. It's pretty much Microsoft Word.[: I was just wondering about this, because the quality in writing differs greatly throughout the forum. It'd be interesting to see how different people write. ^.^'
I write mine from the top of my head. Sometimes I take a screenshot of the characters, so I can keep check of who's who, etc. But that's about it. :}
I write as the ideas come, I use the notes app when writing, text print is larger and easier to read, so it's easy to spot mistakes.
Well, in the situation I'm in, I have characters that already have personalities and styles so I work the story around them. I can't over think what I'm writing otherwise it will turn into rambling. Also I have to have some sort of emotional connection to all of it.
I usually write down all characters in my notes; they're names, characteristics, appearances, all in one note, so I can refer to it whenever I want.
I write straight off my head. (I'll usually write in Notes first, then copy and paste in the forums) Most of the time, I have a rough idea of what I want it to be, but along the way, I'm flexible in allowing the plot to change. My initial idea would turn out very different from the end product. But I've done writing in a writer's website before. Sometimes, I can write it off Microsoft Word, other times, I still love my pen and paper. I'm actually currently working on a novel about a man who lost his ability to move. Maybe i'll get it published in 10 years. Haha That's me.
