My eyes opened slowly to a dark night sky and a body kneeling next to me. It was a girl, hair to her shoulders and held back by a headband. She wasn't looking at me as I sat up. My head hurt. "Where am I?" I asked her softly, memories long forgotten. I could't remember a thing. The girl glanced at me and smiled. "You're in the afterlife." She said, facing something in front of her. Was that a gun? "The afterlife?" I asked, voice slightly raspy. Feminine but hoarse. "Wouldn't that mean I'm dead?" The girl didn't answer, instead aiming the gun at something moving towards us. "Sh...get up!" She pulled me up and took off running, pulling me behind her. Loud gunshots rang in my ear from the pistol she pulled from seemingly nowhere. I looked over my shoulder to see what she was shooting at, but...it was just another girl. Another girl like she and I, walking calmly after us as if she wasn't getting shot. I shut my eyes, and everything went black. When I came to for the second time, I was on a couch in a brightly lit room. There were more voices around, but I kept my eyes closed. I wanted this to be a dream so badly. "It was a good thing you were there, Matsushida the fifth," a familiar voice said. The first girl from earlier? "I would have had to leave her where she fainted if you hadn't gotten her." "It wasn't anything Yurippe." A masculine voice replied. "Can't leave a new recruit where Angel could get her." The group laughed. Was Angel the other girl? I had so many questions, and I needed answers. After steeling my resolve, I sat up. My vision was more blurry than before, and I frowned. One of the many boys there handed me a pair of small and subtle looking glasses, and I slipped them on. That was better. The first girl from before, the one with the headband looked like she was about to speak but I held up my hand. Everyone looked surprised. "I don't know who or where I am. I don't know who any of you are. I don't know how I got here or where I came from, but I have questions and you are going to answer them." Levelly, I gazed at each person until my sight fell upon headband girl who, to my surprise, began to laugh. "Well aren't you spunky?"
"Alright. We'll answer your questions Miss Spunky, but after we all introduce ourselves. Alright?" The headband girl asked. I sighed and nodded. Things would go my way if I played along. The headband girl smiled. "We'll start with...you." She pointed to a tall but rather plain looking boy who sighed. "Call me Otonashi." He smiled in a friendly fashion, brown hair kind of in his face, but my eyes quickly moved on to the next boy. "My name's Hinata!" the boy smiled. He was a little different, but I think that's because his hair was blue. Who had blue hair? Headband girl pointed to a tall, dark haired boy in the back. "That's Takamatsu. Don't be fooled by his glasses, he's actually an idiot." Takamatsu pushed up his glasses as if he was pleased by this fact and I frowned. "The freak with the ax over there," headband girl continued, pointing to said freak with the ax, " Is Noda." My eyes travelled over to him and I could feel my heart skip a beat. He wasn't anything special by first appearance, but there was my heart, beating loudly. Stupid. If I was dead, then what good would a crush do? My eyes moved on. "This is so stupid." A girl with long black hair mumbled from a dark corner. "That's Shiina." Otonashi supplied helpfully. Another boy, with short black hair and catlike eyes stepped into my vision, and looked at me with a smirk. "I'm Fujimaki!" He said, in a rather unpleasant manner. Before I could reply, headband girl kicked him in the face and out of the window. I looked at the now broken window, shocked. Hinata smiled at me. "Fujimaki deserved it. Don't worry, he'll be back up soon." Hinata said, and though I was deeply troubled by this group, I continued gazing at each member. A blonde boy, with a red bandanna covering his eyes was suddenly in my face. "Let the rhythm wash through you!" He said, before a big, buff boy pulled him away. "The boy who was just in your face was TK. The boy who pulled him away is Matsushida the fifth. He's a black belt in karate, so we add the 'the fifth' to his name out of respect. The ordinary boy next to him is Oyama. His special skill is that he has no special skill." Headband girl stated, pointing at each member. My head was spinning. I was learning all of their names, but...who was I? "The boy on the laptop-" "Call me Christ." "-Is Takeyama." headband girl continued as if Takeyama hadn't spoken. Takeyama pushed up his glasses, looking irritated. "The pink haired girl sleeping next to you is Yui." I looked to my side, and sure enough there was a girl there. Although she was little, I still don't see how she was there without my realization. "Be glad she's sleeping or she'd never shut up." Hinata supplied. Headband girl pointed to herself. "I'm Yuri. Which leads us to the next question, Miss Spunky. What's your name?" My eyes shut and I tried to remember...my first name, my given name came back to me but I couldn't remember my family name. "I'm Amaya..." I said quietly. Yuri smiled at me. "Alright Amaya. What questions do you have?"
