I can't believe people are making jokes about such a tragic event in history. It's all I see on campus. ?
I don't see why people mention 9/11 and just expect everyone to be sad about it. If they mention 9/11 with a reference to the twin towers then it's more understandable. But when people say "oh 9/11 is the worst day ever" it's not exactly because some people could love September 11 for specific reasons. That doesn't mean they love the incident.
I'm talking about the direct jokes about the incident that happened on 9-11. A lot of them aren't just jokes about the day. I normally don't mention the towers because to cover the entire loss of that day, I'd have to cover millions of people's heartbreak and loss. And I can't cover that all in one sentence about the towers.
Iv cried all day remembering that day... And whenever an American thinks of 9/11 it saddens out hearts... And for people to joke about it shows pure ignorance.
With all of the lives lost that day, I do believe it would be considered history rather than just U.S history. It's a sad event. Whether it's something important to you or not, you shouldn't make jokes about it. The people making jokes about it are joking about all of the lives lost that day and all of the mothers and fathers who lost children, children who lost mothers and fathers, and so on. A lot of people were directly touched by this particular event.
Many people on WC are simply putting "9/11 worst day ever" then bashing on people who are saying they like the date 9/11 . People should specify when referring to something like the towers. Instead of taking offence to everyone who has a valid reason for liking this date.
I have seen quite a few posts talking about the actual twin towers and making jokes about them. Those are the ones I am talking about. You like the date of September 11th? Awesome. A lot of people do.
Dude there's too much going on to be overly upset about something that happened over a decade ago. It's over. 9/11 happened. Nothing anyone says or does will change what happened. Osama died, we won. Yet, people still want to get worked up about it. I don't read about japan crying over us bombing them every year. I haven't read about Haiti getting worked up about the earthquakes. There's a lot going on, and honestly at some point everyone just needs to let go and look toward the future. Call me a hater or whatever, but while I do have my moment of silence once a year for those who died, I still believe everyone needs to move on.
No, OP. I didn't lose anyone in 9/11. And those that did have my condolences. And there's a huge difference between believing that people should move on, and little brats like the one in the screenshot making fun of 9/11.
Thank you Sorry! ? I can't screenshot and do all of that other stuff so fast bc it's gone off of campus by the time my iPod finally snaps it.
I think it weighs down people who have lost someone much the same as it would if it had just been any other day. That is what is hard about letting go. It is a sad day because many people lost someone all at once. I agree that it's been over a decade and it shouldn't be such a depressing day, but I also will not try and force anyone to remember this day any other way than they do now. It's not my right. You're right, there's a huge difference between you and the person on campus.
To b honest with you 9/11 isn't a big deal here in NZ, but we don't go around disrespecting ppl on campus thats just stupid. & if we do, clearly our mums never taught us properly… big respects america…
