As the title suggests, I would like to do a competition. It's a little late, considering today is Halloween, but that doesn't matter. Whoever writes the best Halloween oneshot will win... Um... Something. Participation gifts will be given out too. I'm looking for perhaps one or two people to help me out, if anybody wants to. More details will be posted later, I literally came up with this two minutes ago Sign ups start now and end whenever I want them to end.
I walked into the cold, dark night. That's all it was. Cold and dark. Nothing was visible, thought rushed through my head a mile a minute, taking control of my mind for a split second. I felt the cold air against my cheek, like icy fingers caressing my face. And the dark, it was pitch blackness. The only visible light was from the stars, whose light was absorbed by the immense dark. The world, cast in darkness. The crisp, icy air chilled me to the bone. The dark reached the smallest corners of my mind, numbing my thoughts. There was a feeling for this—hopelessness. Not exactly complete, utter hopelessness, just as close to a feeling this was. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Was that good? I know it's really short, I might write another one later
By the way....that is totally NOT the same exact one shot I wrote in my one shot thread. TOTAL COINCIDENCE.
I figured people would sign up now and post later, but okay I know it's meant to be a oneshot, but it seems a little short... Perhaps expand on it and make it longer? What you have so far is great though :3
There will be rules. You may sign up whenever you want, but all one-shots MUST be posted before the end of November. (Obviously, you can't sign up after that.) So post your oneshot on here whenever you want, but you can only submit it once. (That guy who already posted their oneshot can resubmit if he wants, but nobody else.) POINTS SHALL BE GIVEN FOR: Originality Plot Character/Surrounding development Detail Spelling Grammar General interestingness Layout (Eg: paragraphs, placement of speech marks, etc) Spookiness (or whatever word you want to use) Relativity to Halloween. You can get up to ten points for each, meaning the final mark will be out of 100.
Poetry will also be accepted, but it would still have to contain all of said criteria. I like poetry :3
For the poems, does the rhythm fall under the 'Layout' category? I'm working hard to make it a good rhythm and I WANT POINTS FOR THAT!
