This is fictional it didnt really happen I just wanted to make a short little story. "Man..." I thought "how could this happen?" My house—my whole neighborhood. Gone. I walked through the knee-deep water in my soaked jeans and hoodie gazing around at my neighbors and their houses. How could my childhood home, my last memories of having a family be destroyed, gone forever. I thought about this as I waded towards my backyard, the only place not flooded. My beutiful tree—my evergreen tree, now snapped like a twig. I remember it small when i was small but we grew together slowly but surely. "Why!" I croaked. Why did everything have to go so quickly. My life was finally pulling itself together. I had met a girl that lived around here but I haven't seen her since the storm. I started towards the front of what used to be my house to try and find her. Standing in front of her house, but I couldnt find her! Everyone was outside scavenging for supplies surely she must too! I stepped into the flooded street stolling down the slight slope of my neighborhood. The mucky sewage and water rised to my chest and coated it in refuse. Disgusted I climbed up onto someone porch and continued my walk, as if in a trance, through the streets. Looking—scanning—looking for her but not succeeding. Then, I came to a sudden halt as I stared at the body floating towards me lifeless, limp and very dead. It looked female probably someone so unfortunate to have been lower in the neighborhood. I walked over to identify the corpse and as i flipped the body over i wished I hadn't because there she was. I dropped the corpse and backed away refusing to believe this was real. "No!" I tried to say but my voice wouldnt work now. A storm was starting unexpectedly, the water started churning and frothing. It seemed as if chaos were happening right in front of me. I looked up and watched a bolt a lightning strike the water I was standing in. Then I woke up… sweating a lot. I quickly opened my window to see a hurricane approaching bringing a huge wave with it… straight… to me. THE END __________________________________ HOPE YOU ENJOYED
