"Come on father I can't believe you agreed to this." I groaned as I opened my car door slowly.
"We don't want war Elijah." My father said giving me a stern look as he got out our car.
I sighed in defeat, and followed after him in annoyance. I couldnt believe that I would be stuck marring a weak little creature. It didn't matter which I was paired with, all of them had little to no power what so ever. As long as it wasn't going to be a mutt I would be able to maybe stand being in the same room with my future "Bride".
As I looked around I was reluctantly impressed with the beauty of this palace, it was clean and looked very expensive. Perhaps it was fair to wish for the human over the others, it might be the weakest but I wouldn't have to worry about it's loyalty.
My father quickly went to the human king to start some small talk, and I went off and took a seat at one of the tables.
Others began to come then, the wolves coming last of course, and I made sure to pay close attention to each of them.
There was a boy my age deeply tanned, with honey colored eyes and he appeared to seem the most excited to be here, he was immature, and full of unamusing jokes.
Then there was the witch girl. She had strange purple hair with green high-lights. Her eyes were a ceepy orange color, and it was obvious by her clothing She was very gothic. Oh god I swear if I get stuck with the witch for eternity I'll go nuts.
"Alana get out here Missy." The human king called out getting my attention.
Well let's see what the human girl looks like, hopefully more promising then the witch.
I watched closely at the door waiting patiently until I watched a fair beauty walk out.
I found myself frozen as I watched the girl, my insides fluttered as I took her all in.
She was perfect, her hair has a gorgeous blonde with high- lights of a Carmel brown through it. Her eyes as green as an emerald trapped me, making me dizzy.
I quickly shook my head to clear it, I was acting ridiculous.
Going floppy over a pretty face, shes probably one of the most selfish girls ever. But I couldn't make myself look away.
She gracefully walked over go her father with a bored face, and a roll of her eyes.
It was obvious she wasn't as keen of being here, much like myself.
My breathing hitched for a second as her emerald orbs locked on me. I mentally growled at myself.
Letting this mere human turn me into a plush pillow with just a glance.
I quickly controlled myself, putting on a mask of indifference as I felt her eyes analyzing me. I didn't move an inch, and kept my eyes looking between tue ugly witch, and the obnoxious wolf girl.
But as my father got my attention I swore to myself quietly as I looked back in her direction.
"Come Elijah, meet Alana." he said with a cheery smile at me.
The urge to run hit me hard, and I bit my lip, pausing for a second before getting up and walking over.
I didn't want to be around that girl, she made everything around me difficult, I was confused, I didn't know why she was stirring in me this lack of control. Sure she was pretty, but that didn't mean the years of restraint could just fly out the window.
As I made it over to them I was careful to keep my eyes away from hers, and looked to my father.
He gave me a look, and with a strong, and firm grip he took my shoulders and forced me to turn in her direction.
She looked at me with a raised brow as I finally looked at her.
"It's nice to meet you." She said with a curtsy.
At that I snapped out of it, remembering were I was, and my manners.
I took her hand, leaning down to kiss her hand, but froze for a second at the over flow of sparks I felt in doing so.
"The pleasure is all mine." I said in a daze as I let go of her hand, taking a half step back.
The strange sparks I had felt dancing across my skin was now fading, leaving a blanket of warmth behind.
    What had that been?
I was disliking this girl more and more now, I hated not knowing something, and so far this girl is nothing but a huge mystery.
She stuttered slightly in response to my words.
    I chuckled at that quietly.
Although she was quite an interesting girl as well.
I watched as a lovely shade of red appeared across her cheeks. I flinched at the sudden burn in my throat at the sight or it, and took another cautious step back.
She watched me closely now, but with her blank expression I couldn't tell what she was thinking.
"So your the vampire I'm guessing." She remarked looking as though she wasn't really bothered by the thought.
"That's right, was it really that obvious?" I wondered looking at her.
"It wasn't really until you looked like you wanted to eat me." she said with a shrug.
Irrigation poked at me at that, but i i remained expressionless.
"Alana." The human king said in a warning tone.
My father gave me another look, seeming to urge me to say something.
"It's fine, it's comforting to know some humans can pay attention." I said trying to bot let the smugness enter my tone.
I watched in amusement at Alana's narrowed eyes.
I must not have done that good a job of hiding that.
"Elijah not appropriate." my father said reproachful.
I just rolled my eyed, crossing my arms, not caring, and watched Alana.
She gave me a obviously fake smile.
"As fun as it is getting insulted I think I'm going to go see the other guests, maybe there are more polite guys here." She said with a icy glance at me before walking gracefully past me.
I turned slightly watching her leave with a glare. But not because of her, because of the thought of some other guy getting her attention. I didn't like it, and I wasn't going to let it happen.
I cringed for a second as I realized my thoughts. Surely I didn't mean that, this human just had a way of messing with my thought process.
The human king looked at my father and I apologetically.
"I'm so sorry about that, as you can see my daughter has quite.. Spirit.." he said shooting glances in the direction she had wondered off to.
Well that was a nice way of saying it, but a more accurate word would be tempered.
"A great quality to have indeed." my father nodded in agreement.
I ignored this conversation, keeping my eyes on Alana as she talked with the annoying wolf boy.
Surely she wouldn't be interested in such a savage such as him. But what did it matter to me, it didn't, because I hated that girl.
I was having a hard time standing still as I kept my eyes on them, and as Alana's amazing laugh sounded I felt my legs moving in her direction, without my brain even telling it to.
"If you would exuse me for a moment." I said nodding go my father and the human king, before making my way over to them.
I glared daggers at the wolf boy, how dare he make Alana laugh before me.
I paused at that thought in surprise.
What was wrong with me, it didn't matter if this obnoxious kid had attracted Alana. She didn't belong to me, I didn't want her to be mine, so I shouldn't care less if he was able to make her laugh.
I made sure to keep this thought in my head as I walked over to them, making sure to stay quiet. I walked right behind Alana, listening for the perfect time to attack.
"So are you excited about all of this?" the wolf boy asked not noticing me here.
"Excited to be doomed for eternity, not likely." I said with a look of boredom.
They both turned to me, the wolf giving me a warm smile, while Alana shot me a glare.
"Shouldn't you be off offending someone else?" Alana spoke up instantly.
I admired her ridiculously bad attitude, yet at the same time it irrigated the heck out of me.
"No its much more fun harassing you." I said with a smirk.
She glared at me now, looking like she was about to storm off so I acted quickly.
I reached out taking her hand and bowing my head.
"But I cant stress enough of how sorry I am, I didn't mean to offend you." I said with honesty.
And I truly didn't, it was just how all vampires talked about humans, it became a habit.
She paused for a second, pleasing me by letting my hand stay in hers, but she gave me a cross look.
"It's ok, this time, but be quick to think before saying something next time." she said and took her hand away.
I nodded watching her, then the wolf kid who had stayed quiet through this for the first time since he came.
"So what's your name leech?" the boy asked with a flat tone. I coughed to disguise my growl at his use of words.
"Elijah, and you mutt?" I asked with a annoyed glance at him.
"It's Fleck." he said with a slight hostile look at me, but I payed him no attention.
Alana watched between us curiously, and crossed her arms.
"Well as I was saying Fleck, I'm not excited in the slightest really." she said with a shrug.
I watched her, holding back the sudden urge to get closer to her.
Fleck now had his full attention back on Alana, he appeared to take every word she said completely serious, as if it was precious.
I refrained an irritated grumble at his actions, and always gave Alana my attention.
"Why, now you get to experience relationship with a different species, plus if we get paired up we would end up having a blast you have to admit." Fleck boasted with a loud laugh.
I felt a sour taste in my mouth at the thought of fleck getting to be with Alana, and I already knew I wouldn't let that happen. If Alana was going to have fun with anyone it wasn't going to be with a mutt..
Alana laughed her twinkling laugh, making something harder then butterflies hit against the walls of my stomach.
"Very true wolf boy, but I don't think so." She smiled patting his cheek before turning and walking away.
I hissed in envy, watching Fleck, wishing to kill him with my bare hands.
But he didn't notice and practically floated after her, face red. I snorted, glaring at him as I followed behind.
Alana walked right to the witches table smiling politely to both of them.
"Hello." She bowed as Fleck made it back to her side. I snuck myself to her other side, taking a moment to admire her beauty up close.
They both turned their noses up, other then the witch king, who smiled slightly at her and nodded. This didn't stop Alana's father attempts of talking.
"My name is Alana." She said looking between the two kids our age. The creepy girl spoke first, glancing at me for a second before looking to Alana.
"I'm Wendy, and this is my brother Zane." she said nodding to the quiet boy beside her. He wore all black, including black hair with neon purple highlights.
Zane watched Alana with bright purple eyes, but she didn't seem bothered by it.
"Nice meeting you both, do you mind us joining your table?" She wondered with a smile that had me staring.
Both witches looked at each other looking surprised. To tell you the truth I'm pretty sure all if us were surprised about this.
"You really don't mind being seen sitting with the freaks." Zane said speaking for the first time.
"Your not freaks to me, just because your different that doesn't mean your bad, or wrong, or any different then anyone eyes.
We all again were stunned by Alana's words.
Well this was another side of Alana I didn't know about.
    She was kind hearted.
Both witches again looked at each other and smiled at Alana warmly.
"Your welcome to join our table then." Wendy grinned.
Alana beamed and took a seat beside Zane.
"thanks." she said looking at the both of them.
"It's cool, but just you." Wendy said throwing glares at Fleck and I.
Alana chuckled glancing at the both of us.
"You heard the witches, get lost." Alana said with amusement dancing in her eyes.
The witches snickered at this watching Alana, the boy giving her a more admiring look that didn't make me feel comfortable with.
Fleck pouted, and began rattling off the worst jokes I have ever had the displeasure to hear. But regardless Alana and Wendy both laughed as if it was the funniest thing in the world, yet Zane just glared at Fleck.
"Ok so Fleck is pretty cool to, I guess you can sit here to." Wendy said her strange eyes looking Fleck over.
I welcomed the thought of Fleck falling for thus Wendy girl, and keep his dirty fingers away from Alana. But he didn't appear to sway from Alana's side.
"Sweet, thanks witch girl." Fleck grinned and sat down across from Alana, beside Wendy.
I watched them, thinking about doing some mind control to force them to let me sit there, but Alana spoke up.
"Elijah is cool to." She said lowly in Wendy's ear, but of course I heard easily, and fought to hold back my smile.
Wendy glanced at me, looking a bit irritated, but slowly nodded.
I sat down quietly after that, and gave her a puzzling look as to what I had done to earn her irrigated look.
Wendy narrowed her eyes slightly yet looked away and to the others.
"As a witch my brother and I do have many powers, like for example I can tell the future when ever or where ever I want." Wendy said avoiding my gaze.
"So who is getting hooked up with who today?" Fleck asked.
"Well thanks to him, I don't know." Wendy said with an annoyed look at me.
Alana looked at me curiously then to Wendy.
"How is he doing that?" she asked, making me smile.
It warmed mu insides that she was interested in something having to do with me.
"He is a vampire, his power of manipulation is messing with who gets put together, he constantly is changing his mind on who is with who." Wendy explained.
Alana and Fleck looked at me with shock and slight horror.
I gulped a bit, not wanting Alana to get upset about this.
"But if he was to keep things as they are, I would be with Fleck, Zane with Alana, and elijah would be with daisy." Wendy said nodding to the wolf girl.
    I cringed in disgust.
Well I'm am changing this for sure now, and I watched as Wendy and Zane glared at me.
Alana stayed quiet leaning back in her chair watching me.
"Oh well, at least I'm getting a chick" Fleck shrugged sitting back also, and looking slightly disappointed.
    Alana nodded smiling at Zane.
Zane looked back at her shyly, but shared the smile.
I growled lowly, and I watched both the witches and Flecks eyes burn into mine tense, as if ready to attack if need be.
Alana looked between us for a second, not having the super natural hearing like the others.
"But like I was saying, I don't know who we will be paired by with next." Wendy said simply, looking at me sternly.
They all gave me a look now.
I wasn't sure exactly who would be paired with who, I was just going to make sure Alana would be with the only person even a bit close enough for her standards. Me.
I glanced briefing at Zane, noticing his cold look at me.
Surely he didn't harbor feelings for Alana too, could he. Although it's none of my business, I don't even care.
After some time I watched as the kings from the other kingdoms come. Another wolf, witch, and a human looking a lot like Alana yet not as graceful, or beautiful, or amazing.
This must be her sister. They shared many traits, including their eye color, but this girl had brown hair, in thin springy curls.
I payed her no attention as she walked over to us.
She batted her eyes sweetly and pulped down on the table with a smirk.
"Hey strangers." She said looking over each of us.
Alana rolled her eyes at het sister now looking at each if us appoletigeticly.
The witches seemed indifferent by this human, including the mutt.
"Umm this is my big sister Pamela." Alana said with a weak smile.
Her sister wasn't much to look at, she seemed more stuck up. Not one hair out of place, and the scent of overwhelming innocence clung to her presence.
Pamela smiled nicely at us, throwing me a wink that made me want to gag.
I rolled my eyes, and ignored her, giving Alana my attention again.
"Nice to meet you I guess." Fleck said nodding at Pamela, glancing at her for a second.
Alana twitched a bit, appearing to be bothered by her sister being here.
"Umm, I think father is calling me." Alana said quietly as she stood up.
"If you wish, I can escort you to your father." Zane spoke up, watching her with clouded eyes.
The smile that slide onto Alana's face had jealousy knotting up my stomach. Violent thoughts began taking over my mind. I didn't know why, but the thought of Zane being with Alana was unbearable. I wouldn't let it happen.
"Yes thank you." Alana said watching him stand with a coy smile.
I gritted my teeth together in envy as I watched Zane and Alana link arms and walk away.
I shot up to my feet to, not even bothering g to hide my growls.
"Excuse me." I hissed lowly before marching to were my father was sitting.
When I made it over to him I began to pace, roughly running my hand through my hair.
"Son, are you alright?" my father asked watching me with concern.
"No!" I snarled at him, and snapped my eyes back at Alana and Zane, feeling my possessiveness increasing.
"What happened that has you so savage?" my father asked looking between Alana and me with curiousness.
"I dont know ok, I just can't take letting Alana be with anyone." I barked, feeling to stressed to care about how disrespectful I was being.
My father then gave me a look, which slowly turned onto his wide smile.
"Do you love that girl?" he asked.
I paused in shock at his words, and doubt was the first thing that came to mind. There was no way I could fall in love, let alone with a mere human.
"No, of course not." I said rashly.
My father just smirked at me, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Ok then, let her be happy with Zane." He shrugged.
I glared at that coldly, and clenched my hands into fists.
"No, I can't..." I said between my teeth.
"Why, she doesn't matter to you, it's not like you want to be the one she is paired with." he said with a knowing look.
That made me realize something, Alana did matter to me, and I hated to admit it, but I had wanted to be paired up with her since I first laid eyes on her.
Was it possible for me to fall in love with this human?

    ********Alana's POV*******

I sat down slowly beside Zane, watching my father and all the other kings standing up front with the large bowl filled with small pieces of paper with names on it.
I was nervous, I could feel myself twitching more and more as the minutes ticked on.
"Are you alright Alana?" A voice called out to me, and I looked up to see elijah.
Zane made a low noise at him as he sat down on the other side of me.
I couldn't help the smile that came on my face as I turned to Elijah.
"I'm fine, just a little nervous." I nodded and pulled my eyes away from him and back to the kings.
I watched as the wolf king picked the first two names, and held my breath.
"Prince Jareth, with Princess Dasiy." He announced.
I heard Elijah snicker lowly at this, and I looked to him curiously.
"Jareth is my brother." He said nodding to the boy that stood up.
They were a lot alike, the same raven black hair, curled slightly in thick lushes waves, perfectly positioned on the tops of their heads. The same big shiny emerald green eyes you could just get lost in, and the only real difference was their body. Elijah, had this firm, and built body, that was soft to the touch but strong. His brother had more of a boyish figure, more rounded, with chubbier cheeks, and a bit shorter.
I watched as Jareth took Daisy's hand with a content smile and walked her off to decide who was moving in were.
Now the vampire king was picking out pieces of paper, again I held my breath, and waited.
"Prince Zane, with Princess Pamela." he announced.
Disappointment rolled around in my stomach as I looked at Zane.
Zane looked back at me with a similar look, along with slight disgust as his eyes traveled to my sister.
They both stood up, and Zane didn't even touch her, just led her away.
It's not like I had a thing for Zane, it's just that if I wasn't going to be matched up with elijah, then I wanted Zane to be there.
I sighed a bit, leaning back more in my chair, and watched my father pull out the next to.
"Prince Elijah, and Princess Alana." My father announced smiling at me.
My eyes widened and I breathed out relieved as I stood up.
I watched as Elijah gave me his adorable dimpled smile, and bowed, offering his hand out to me.
I took it without hesitation, and jumped at the icy hot sparks that bit at my hand.
Elijah didn't seem to notice this and began to lead me away.
I couldn't believe this was happening.
I would be getting married to thus man for the rest of my life. Would I ever actually fall in love with him, or would we just be friends. I think we can be friends, vampire or not I'm sure he is a great person.
"So Alana, would you like to move into my castle or should I move into your's?" he asked as we stopped in front of the fountain that stood in the middle of my front yard.
"If you dont mind, I would like to stay here, and you can move in." I said after a short thought.
    Elijah nodded with a smile.
"Of course." He said simply, and I watched him, just in awe by his charm and beauty. How is it possible to be so perfect.
But of course there was a lot of things about me that he would have to accept and deal with, because I'm far from any of the other princesses.
"So what are your hobbies?" He asked taking a seat on the rim of the fountain.
I chewed on my lip as I sat down beside him, and thought about that before answering.
"Well I do archery a lot, if that counts." I shrugged.
He nodded at that with an interested look at me.
"That's very .. Unprincessly" he pointed out.
"No one ever said I was like all the other princesses.." I said firmly.
He just looked at me now with a puzzling look before looking up at the sky, to the clouds.
"Interesting." he said with a nod.
    I sat back in irrigation.
I knew he would have been expecting a princess like my sister, a perfect barbie doll, a trophy to brag over to his friends, well I wouldn't give him that satisfaction.
"And what do you do?" I asked, looking for ways to get on his nerves.
"I play guitar, hunt, and I enjoy beach volleyball." he said with a brilliant smile.
I reluctantly admired that smile, and found it extremely hard to think negatively about him. He truly was perfect, but I had to stay strong.
I gave him my best doubtful look.
"You hunt, you look more like the quiet indoors person." I said simply.
He snorted at that with amused eyes.
"I do like being indoors, yet I've always liked hunting, it's the rush of the chase." he said with am animated smile.
"And when you day hunting, you mean animals right, not humans" I said.
I know it was a low blow, but I really wanted to give this guy a taste of what he would be dealing with.
He eyes hardened as he loomed at me, all amusement gone.
"Hunting animals is for entertainment, hunting humans is for survival." he said almost flatly.
"So that makes doing it ok, who are you to take the life of an innocent person just to preserve yours." I snapped.
He looked at me shocked and taken aback, pausing for a second to take in my words.
"So your saying we don't deserve a chance to live, while you humans waste your lives getting drunk, and doing drugs, ruining your own lives, we don't have that choice, we have only one option, drink blood and hide. I don't know about you, but some vampires deserve to live more then some humans." he snapped back at me.
"That isn't your call, you aren't god, you want a chance, you want to live, well killing the innocent isn't going to help." I said icily.
"So what do we do, starve to death?" he growled back taking a step towards me.
I held my ground, scowling at him harshly.
"Instead of killing any random person, who has a family and a life to live, hunt the earth's scum, the drunks and the druggies, those aren't real people anymore, you would be doing them a favor." I said between clenched teeth.
Elijah just stood there and glared at me now, his lips smashed together in a hard line on his face.
"Emma, is everything ok here?" A familiar voice called from the distance.
I turned with a smile, already knowing who it was.
"Zane, I'm fine." I said feeling calmer as he stood close in front of me.
"Are you sure?" He asked throwing a warning glance at Elijah, but Elijah's blank expression didn't waver.
"I'm positive, shouldn't you be with Pamela." I said with a weak smile.
Zane groaned a bit at that.
"I can already tell things aren't going to work out well between us, no offense but she never shuts up." Zane said with a frown.
I laughed at that grinning at him.
"Believe me, I know." I said amused.
Elijah looked tensely between us, his eyes starting to appear darker and hard.
"I'm sorry some of this didn't go as planned." Zane said and with a slight pause his hand caressed my cheek.
I flushed in surprise at the feeling, and his hand quickly retreated at Elijah's cold growl.
The sound sent chills down my spine, but I didn't let it show.
"Sorry." he said looking to me, instead of Elijah.
"It's ok." I smiled chewing on my lip.
    Now I was curious.
Did I like that, or not?
"I suggest you leave, now." Elijah cut in throwing daggers at Zane.
Zane looked to Elijah with a silent threat in his eyes, before turning back to me.
"I promise I'll work this out." he said and took my hand, kissing it lightly then walking back in the direction he came from.
I still was unsure about Zane, I was to stressed over today to really think of much.
I turned to look at Elijah.
"Well that wasn't very nice." I glared, crossing my arms annoyed.
Elijah rolled his eyes and glared.
"Emma, I don't think you understand a vampires instincts do you, when someone is showing admiration to my mate there is two main urges vampires act on, hide you from sight, or the most commonly used, kill the threat" he said not meeting my gaze. "It was extremely hard for me to not react in anyway."
I thought about this, glance g back in the direction that Zane had left.
"But you aren't in love with me, so shouldn't this not bother you?" I muttered, more hurt by my own words.
"It doesn't matter, I have claimed you as mine the second I heard our names get picked, it's just how vampires are, very territorial." Elijah stated and let his hand rest on the small of my back.
My heart sprang into a fast beating, and ripples of sparks hit down my back.
"Shall we go inside, it's looks like it's about to rain." he said glancing up at the dark clouds above us.
"Sounds like a good idea." I nodded and let his gently hand stay on my back, leading me towards the house.
My eyes almost never left his face as we walked, he was just so perfect, his every feature was flawless.
I was so lucky to be marrying this guy, even though I knew I didn't deserve such perfection.
What was I even saying, this guy was a jerk, I should be trying to find a way out if this.
