Fan Fiction Do's and Dont's Here on Fan Fiction many people to enjoy a good read, or Post one of their own stories, or even participate in the alway popular "Role Playing" The following guide, is just a good grasp of what you should, and should not do here on Fan Fiction. Dont's Stories When posting a story here on Fan Fiction you should keep the following in mind. Is what your posting offensive or racist in any way? Is what your posting have any profanity? Have you posted this multiple times? Is what your posting not decent for children under 18? is what your posting belong in a different forum section? if you have answered yes to any of the questions from above, this is breaking the rules to posting. The Unofficial Fan Fiction rules Fan fiction has become a nice little community; more like a circle of friends, and over the time spent they have formed some unofficial rules to posting stories. If these unofficial rules are followed there is much less fighting, and drama between new writers, and more experienced writers. Do your very best to write stories correctly, with proper grammar, and no spelling error. Don't make many stories all at once, (it clogs up the space, allowing others to struggle to find other stories) Don't make many of the same stories. Don't steal ideas from anyone else's stories, or use anyone else's thoughts or ideas unless given permission. When someone posts a "Bump" on a story you might have made, don't be alarmed, or confused, this is actually a good thing. A bump means that someone has liked what you have posted, and would like you to update. So keep your eyes open for them. Do's There isn't to many rude people here on Fan Fiction but there are some things you should keep in mind when posting. Don't be afraid to ask for some help on anything you could be wanting to post. Approach the Fan Fiction community with a calm, polite, and nice attitude Always be prepared to discover a new adventure into the reading world. Be creative, and don't be afraid to have a bit of fun. Role Playing What is Role Playing? Role Playing is exactly how it sounds. Someone will post a RP (Role Play) thread up, explaining a setting to the readers. Along with a "Skeleton", or character information. In a Role Play, you can create a character of your own, giving it a...... Name Age Personality Appearance When you have created your character, you are to wait until the original poster of that thread "Approves" your character. By saying you are "Accepted" or "Approved" means you now have permission to "Role Play" How to Role Play Role playing isn't challenging, and it's a lot of fun doing. Once you have completed you skeleton, and the original poster of the thread starts the Role Play you should keep the following in mind:.. You now control your character you created, make them act how ever you wish. The name you have picked for your character should be the first thing you post. (Alida 1. Action : to show your character is doing something, you write out what your character is doing, then either put a dash on the beginning of the sentence and at the end, (-Looking around-) or an asterisk. (*Looking around the room*) Character communication If you would Like your character to say something to another character, or just speak out loud, you would write out the sentence with quotes. ("I'm sure that's not true") Character thoughts If you would like to show your character is thinking something, you should italicize your words. But she, I wonder were she is you should space each of those evenly before posting, it makes reading it easier. Dont's Role Plays are a bit different the stories, and shouldn't be treated like a story. Following these tips should reduce drama/fights between everyone. don't try and kill other people's characters without their permission. Don't post anything inappropriate, or something children under 18 shouldn't read. After posting to someone, wait and give then time to responded, before posting again. Don't post huge paragraphs Do's Role Playing can be the most fun thing on Fan Fiction to do, if done in the right attitude.
