A brief history of The BoS Wars space It's BoS season again! As most of you know, The BoS Wars are a great PIMD tradition, founded and organised by CharlotteAnne and IceShardz. The rivalry between The Girlfriends and The Boyfriends began in 2011, as Char and Ice challenged each other to a war. From a handful of people in that first war, BoS has only grown, and this annual event is a pimd experience all must try! Even ATA has gotten on board, holding the clubs until the event, and increasing the member limits to allow more players to participate! Here's a brief history of the wars to date! THE SETUP space The BoS wars work so well because they're very well planned. Char, Ice, and their admin teams work hard to match rosters as close as possible, and also give notice of upgrade deadlines, then rally everyone into their respective clubs early. This ensures things are fair, the teams are equal, and the event runs as smoothly as possible. All of the BoS wars have been 48 hours long, with the team who is behind at the 24 hour mark given the choice to fight on or forfeit. THE TRADITIONS space Over the years, BoS has picked up quite a few fun traditions. These include: Trash talk in forums and campus - A favourite tradition on both teams, trash talking is an absolute necessity of the BoS wars! It brings the teams together, and gets the sammiches made after war! Ken and Barbie names - A lot of participants change their names to include either Ken or Barbie. Coming up with the names is half the fun, even if they don't get used! 40-Hour mark wall posts - liiiiitle bit dangerous.. Sleep deprived warriors on the home stretch can be pretty feisty. It's about this time that walling the person who just unloaded on you and demanding sammiches frequently occurs.. Post-War Campus Party - the winning team has been known to spam campus with their victory lap.. However, after the Great Silencing Escapade of 2013 (where around 10 girlfriends were silenced for spamming their victory banner), this is one tradition that probably won't continue.. At least not with the same banner, anyway The Aftermath Discussion - following the war, anyone still awake comes together to discuss the weekend: who leaked, who kept everyone awake, what the best moment was.. Definitely worth staying up for THE WARS space From it's humble beginnings, to the extraordinary event it is today, the BoS wars are legendary! Here's a recap of the wars so far: BoS 1 - Battle of the Sexes Feb 2011 space Char and Ice challenged each other to the ultimate war, a Battle of The Sexes. Both teams fought it out over the 48 hours, and even though they were outnumbered 14 to 21, the Boyfriends walked away with the prize! BoS 2 - Girlfriends' Revenge April 2011 space Unsatisfied with their loss, The Girlfriends challenged The Boyfriends to a rematch! The rosters were were set at 71 vs 71.. The girls were out for blood, but unfortunately, even though only 62 guys warred, they fell behind and at the 24 hour mark, made the tough decision to forfeit to the boys BoS 3 - Final Showdown April 2012 space The Girlfriends, being the feisty bunch they are, didn't want to give the boys the satisfaction of just two wars, and so the Final Showdown was planned! 87 vs 87! A chance for the girls to redeem themselves! Unfortunately... BoS 4 - Pink Slip Challenge July 2012 space By BoS 4, The Boyfriends were feeling pretty confident about themselves. They had an unbeaten 3/3 record after all.. How could they resist a Pink Slip Challenge, winner takes all? The Girlfriends worked hard together, through sleep deprived delirium and taunting, to not only beat the boys, but top the biggest plunder ever seen from any club up til that point BoS 5 - Battle for Domination July 2013 space Even though they'd been beaten pretty badly, the Boyfriends doubted the ladies could do it again, and so the Battle for Domination began! The Boyfriends came prepared, and took a 50b lead early on.. Little by little, The Girlfriends closed the gap, and took home the bacon sammiches for the second time! Not only that, it was over 1T of deliciousness BoS 6 - Boyfriends' Redemption July 2014 space This year, The Boyfriends are being given the chance to redeem themselves Both teams are prepped and primed and ready to go, but who will win? Will The Girlfriends maintain their winning streak, or will The Boyfriends recover their manhood? WE LOVE BOS If you've been a BoS participant, share your fave memories or best stories from the wars. I'll have to say BoS war was one of the best war I've ever been to. Only had the chance to participate July 2013 but my favorite thing was seein all this girls from different clubs working together as a team plus the barbie names were awesome
This will be my second BOS. I was lucky enough to have warred in July 2013 as a replacement and it was insane. Cc was crazy fast and big names were everywhere lol. Thank you to the organisers and I loved reading the story behind it Ahlie Girlfriends will dominate again this time round!
