So recently I've moved out on my own to take on the big bad world of college. Not quite the entire world, but just a fraction of it. Since I'm poor as hell and have to pay for everything on my own, I want to know about meals to make that are super cheap. I'll be contributing to the College Cookbook as well, but feel free post your own things to cook and if possible, add pictures! For my first dish, I'll be cooking an omelet (mostly because CPTWells said he didn't know how to make one )! The Omelette First, you need the utensils to create the omelet! A spatula, cheese, a pan, and an egg! (Not pictured: bowl, fancy whisk, and milk) Next, you heat the stove on a medium-low setting. Then you take 1 egg (you can put more than one, but then it gets too thick and doesn't cook all the way and that's just nasty) And whisk it in a bowl. Since I'm not a fancy college kid, I use a fork as a whisk. Then when you've heavily beaten the hell out of the egg, you add some milk! I guesstimate how much milk, but don't put more than 2 tablespoons if you're using 1 egg. Before pouring the egg in the pan, add about a tablespoon of olive oil in your already heated pan. Then you pour your egg in there and wait til it is mostly cooked through: At this point, JUST LOSE IT! Go crazy! Add as much cheese as you want to the middle of your egg circle: Then ya fold it, cook it til you see all of the cheese melt, and there you have it! Your perfect omelette! And don't forget your fancy paper plate. Total cost of meal: about $7. Plus, the cheese bag you bought and the carton of eggs you buy can probably last about 10 omelets--- that's like a week and a half!!
.-. I hate omlets lol... Bagels are one of the only healthy foods I eat for breakfast... Maybe some fruit? Lol idk... Oh yeah! Bump
Lol I was just holding it weird. Goldia, now you KNOW how to make one! Go out and spread the good news!
I use left overs from previous meals to make a better meal. Like using leftover soft tortillas and the shredded cheese to make quesadillas. You melt a bit of butter in a pan then put one torilla in, after that you put the cheese in the middle, and another torilla on top. Cook til both sides are golden then enjoy.
