    Posting a thread

The forums can be quite difficult, especially for people who've never been on them before. Follow the steps below to posting a thread/post on the forums.

    Step #1
Go to the Fan Fiction section of the PimD Forums.
    Step #2
Look at the top right corner of the page.
    Step #3
    Tap the 'New Post' button.
    Step #4
Type in your title and content.
    Step #5
Spell and grammar check your writing.
    Step #6
    Tap the 'Post' button.

And that is how you post a thread!

    Paragraphing

It is surprising how many people post a story, that is all one paragraph. A paragraph is a section of writing, for example:

This is the first paragraph, normally an introduction if it is the beginning of a story. Introductions introduce the setting, and sometimes the characters.

This is the second paragraph. Notice how I hit 'Enter/Return' twice instead of once? This makes the paragraph clearer to the reader, so that it all doesn't look like one big clump.

Those two paragraphs were informative as well as exemplary. Paragraphing is important with a story, and often shows a change of subject/setting.

    Grammar and Spelling

A lot of stories do not have correct grammar. Below is a list of some commonly confused words.

    Too That was too spicy!
To I have to go to the shop.
    Your I love your shoes!
    You're You're so pretty!
Our Our project will be great!
Are Why are you so weird?

These words are a matter of grammar. Below is a list of commonly misspelt words.

    Recognise
    Beautiful
    Remember
    Microscopic
    Resistant
    Sprawled
    Castle
    Receive
    Believe
    Contraception

Grammar and spelling are important in a piece of writing, because the reader must understand what is being said. If they don't understand, they will just end up re-reading the sentence over and over again.

    Genres

A genre is a type of something. There are genres in music, poetry, films, theatre and novels. Genres are normally:

    • Horror
    • Romance
    • Mystery
    • Thriller
    • Spiritual
    • Super natural
    • Fantasy
    • Tragedy
    • Paranormal
    • Informative
    • Historical

It is said that the most popular genre for novels is Super Natural, and the second is Romance. Generally, older readers prefer Mystery or Historical stories, while you gets enjoy Fantasy and Horror.

Well, that's it! I hope you haven enough here to start writing your own piece, and maybe you'll be able to share it with us here in Fan Fiction! Thank you all for reading!

  2. Thanks for the help 

  3. I'd just like to point out that some people use British English and some use American English, so there are different spelling.

  4. Yuuki is right, Americans and British people use different spelling. For example: British people might say recognise while Americans use recognize with a "z".

  5. Another example is colour (British) and color (American)
    Mom (British) Mum (American)

  6. Mum is British...mom is American...

  7. The extra u in some British English and of course was about to mention the z.

As well, I learnt from meeting people around the world but this part pertains to the country, that there are different spellings accepted in schools as well.

I got annoyed with a friend writing 'of coarse' because I was taught 'of course' as well as most others. As it so happens, it's accepted in her schools.
(I'm still rather annoyed but I just wanted to re-affirm the brit-english and american-english, recognize, and some other words that use z instead of s as well but I can't recall some. As well as that little, useless, anecdote.)

  8. As well as thanks for posting for those who want to gain the confidence to share their writing.

  9. The second to last paragraph has a spell/grammar error. "While you gets..." Um I don't understand. I just found it ironic that there are errors in someone trying to inform on how to write.

Not trying to be a meanie just saying. Just found it funny. I found it rather informative but kind of redundant. Well because I "think" I know how to write, when I really don't. I think it's cool that someone took their time to post this. So thanks, but you might want to spell check/ grammar it. Or reread it to see if It makes sense to you. Reading it aloud like a first grader helps me out. But it may seem stupid yet gets the job done.

Good luck future writers. I look forward to reading more work, maybe post my own. <3

  10. Auto correct doesn't recognise youngers. If you have an iPhone, turn your auto correct on and try it. Sorry about that.

  11. Still, I find it funny that you posted in your steps to posting a thread to spell and grammar check... But you don't? Hehe.

  12. That's what I said. </3 but still it was a good idea with good intentions.
