What does everybody think of a grand exchange style system? You have an item you wish to sell for cash, simply place it in the box and put a price tag on it. Somebody wishing to buy an item places an offer of say, 5 bil cash transfer. Their 5 bil is put in a box with a label of what they want to buy. When putting an item in for sale, if somebody already has an offer for said item equal or above your asking price, their offer (not necessarily your price because they may have offered more) is instantly transferred to you as cash and they receive the item. Vice versa when placing an offer for an item - if somebody has an item for sale at a price equal or lower than which you have offered, you're order is placed, you pay their asking price and you receive the item with a cash refund of any $ difference. *Any money placed in an order will be locked from you unless you withdraw the offer so as to ensure you do not spend the money in case the trade is made while you are unable to pay. There is no dv'ing involved so no ridiculously large costs whilst not actually lowering the value of items. I actually really like this idea, what does the community think? If it gets positive feedback I'll forward it to the devs
There are a few kinks that would need to be worked out like a way to prevent simple transferring of money to alts or hiding cash for free instead of 20% ATM charge.. Perhaps just charge 20% tax if the offer is withdrawn
No, this is terrible. So many people would use this to give money to alts. Lets ask for a jacket for 1.5T It's just going to abuse the system. People already look down at ECDVBC, now they wouldn't even need to put in half a days work volleying when they can simple send a crap little item for trillions of $ into an alt.
Even with tax, it will be abused. Items have no value in the first place. They don't cost a single cent, you can get them for free from parties....whilst making money..... No one should be paying for them, no one should be selling them. They should be non-sendable so players will have to try a range of parties in order to get the items them self, instead of being lazy.
As I said, it will be necessary to devise a way to prevent that. This isn't something I've spent days thinking over, it popped into my head not half an hour ago. :?
They go in the gift section for a reason. Ive given all my hunt items away even a catsuit back when they were in high demand.
It's not something that's needed when items are not worth anything. The tax would have to be over 40% for it to be same as dv'ing, and in that case people would still do it to give money to alts, even at 40% people will do it because it's roughly same as dv but faster. No matter which way you look at it, it will be abused in some way or another. Unless they start giving these items bonuses, they're worth nothing at all. If anything, they should do like what they have with kaw and their items, they give bonuses, but can't be sent, or like their bronze bars. Eb's drop random number of bronze bars to players, and can be sold to the market place for 30mil each, it's pretty much a bonus over a bonus money pay out.
When I think of it....this idea would be best off for meego.....it's not suitable for pimd kaw fc or gaw, but it could work for meego.
Whichever way you look at it, the showcase is effectively a vanity case. A display of gifts, trophies and items. The majority of things in there serve no purpose other than to look pretty. But in reality, vanity is one of the biggest purchase motivations there is and the same applies in pimd, people want the items and they are willing to pay for them. They do hold value, even if it is superficial. Until items become non-giftable, they will continue to be bought and sold via dv's at massive cost to the buyer compared to what the seller is actually receiving. If the flaws are ironed out, a system like this or similar to this could help even the playing field and result in more consistent market prices for the items being sold.
If there was this " grand exchange" people like me would lcbc their alts much faster through simply giving money away for the simplest thing as beer. So my answer is obviously no. The item description says it is worth $0 and 0 EC for a reason. So many people cannot read
I loved ur idea Dan ... As expected from u And bout wat others r saying is write but they shud not overrule d fact that majority of pimd players take part in transactions for items to show in their showcase Infact this idea will help a lot as most of the buyers have a good loss to buy d iitem even though like warking said they r drops from parties which r totally free So its a yes from me
