So lately I've been having this odd issue with my car, thought maybe someone might read forums that's handy with cars. Sooo this will probably be pointless to the rest of you.

Anyway! So lately whenever I drive over a bump or something my car doors will unlock themselves, whenever the car gets jolted or whatever they do it. And it's not just a one time thing it happens quite often, not over every single bump but enough to make me believe my cars going to fall apart and I'm going to die in some sort of firey explosion ? yeah because I'm weird like that.

Other things you should probably know, I know zero about cars other then how to pump my own gas and put in oil. I once went to the mechanic thinking my ac didn't work and when the mechanic came out he was like "your ac is fine but are you sure you're not blonde you didn't press the ac button." And I drove around in 98 degree heat without ac because I thought it was broke for 3 days ?. My car is a 2003 Gallant. I also have severe road rage and because of this factor I'm not really to nice on my car. ? we have a love hate relationship. Don't judge me. Anyway yeah. Useless thread because I can take it into the mechanic yes but I kinda don't have that money right now and I was wondering if anyone can make speculations on what it may be and if I will die a awful death of car implosion.

  2. My guess is your locks are loose you might wanna go to a mechanic to get it fixed they'd have to open the inside of your door most likely a cheap fixi could be wrong though my thing is mostly car models, engines, upgrades, decals

  3. Thank you emoji for your input 

  4. I'll buy you a new Lambo for New Years Cherry <3

  5. The 2nd paragraph made me laugh harder then I probably should have. 

  6. I do believe that there is a very small percentage that your car will actually spontaneously blow up during ignition because of what happens during the initial start-up of your car each time.

  7. May be a safety feature and it's not working right. Anyway I would just go by a auto shop and ask why it's doing it....

  8. Are they electric locks?

  9. cherry you are awesome on a side note you won't die in a inferno you should be fine the thing id be worried about is if the door locks decide to not open for you anymore as far as knowing the issue no idea but it sounds like something is loose if it happens when going over bumps

  10. Probably a faulty door lock switch or a shorted wire that only contacts when you drive over a bump.

  11. Blergh ? and yes they're electrical lol.

  12. Do the switches all work?

  13. Yes iEx besides my passenger side window which hasn't worked since I've gotten the car a year and a half ago and was a prior issue that I didn't want to spend money on. The lock is a new development.

  14. It could be that water has got in there that's happened to a friend of mine before

  15. As for my passenger window? Nah

It needs a new motor 

  16. Know there's a short somewhere. When her car jerks or hits bumps, there are some wires that touch and unlock your car

  17. Alan yes please 

And thank you for everyone's input and the fact that no one mentioned my ac ignorance ?

  18. Well ppl who live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones, i once had a company vehicle i thought it had no power steering turns out the belt had snappedI'm a tradesman btw which makes it worse i drove that tank for months on the bright side i grew extra muscle

  19. Id agree with Wally, sounds like its an electrical issue, if they are all unlocking at once when you hit a jolt. Maybe its a ghost??
