Are we really Independent ? Today, here we are celebrating our 71st Independence. But, the real question is whether we are really independent now. We were given independence from the colonial British rule on August 15th 1947.But, I would still say that the country is not independent, but not from the outside but within the inside. A country where people fight and kill over cows..... A country where the government decides what the people should eat..... A country where our mothers and sisters aren't free to walk safely..... A country where 76 children died because of the lack of oxygen..... A country where terrorism, corruption and poverty exists at a high rate..... A country where farmers commit suicide and unemployment exists..... What do you really call Independence ?
I personally would call it independence when people will get freedom from the kind of mentality they have(most people in our country).A day when we will be actually proud to accept that we are Indians without being afraid what others will think of us.We are a developing nation and are improving ourselves everyday and I believe that in the next 50 years or so a lot of people will change the way they are.Still there are some desperate enough people who harass girls on social media and that is shameful.Even though not every Indian is like that there are still a lot of people who do that and bring shame upon the Nation.On the other hand there are people who are working in foreign lands facing the shame and still making country proud.There are people in country too who are working on the inside.I would like to ask everyone not to insult people who are living outside India over the fact that they should live in the country and help the economy because Indians outside the country bting 700 billion dollars to country every year.They are the ones who represent us and they are the ones working in different field to make us proud on a global level.In the end we are all humans and we all have flaws but the important thing is to accept them and move forward correcting them.
