Visage Chapter 1 Clear skies with maybe a few clouds drifting as if they were sailboats cursing through the ocean blue. The sun was bright and the temperature was just right for a beach kind of day. There was a breeze that swept by every now and then, it started off strong but ended very lightly. The sounds of the city were heard even through the wind's mighty gust. Cars were passing through narrow streets and busy intersections, lining up at street lights every now and then when there was one. People littered the sidewalks, passing one another ever so slightly that it almost seemed as if they would bump into one another if just an inch off of their intended trajectories. Not many of them stood out so much from the rest. There were few with different colored shirts, pants or shoes. If you were to watch them as you sat from a fair distance your eyes wouldn't catch many. They seemed normal, average, maybe even mundane. As many of them cluttered around entrances to stores, shops or food shops, one person may be able to catch your eye. As if somehow different from all the others that surrounded her, a slender women not much taller than the rest of her fellow people made her way through the crowded sidewalk and into a clearing. There is where you'd be able to get a real glimpse of her. She was average height for a woman, maybe 5'6, with long legs and a short torso. Not too short as if it made her seem strange but if you stared long enough you'd be able to tell. She had on jean shorts that came up to just the top of her thighs but low enough to cover the bare minimum, a tight crop top that left her flat stomach out in the open, sandals that seemed like entwined vines up to her calves but below her knee caps and a few accessories that dangled from her neck that seemed foreign to all other jewelry seen before. Her jean shorts had holes in them, intentional it seems for what the fashion industry deems "fashionable". Her crop top was a dark stone color as if to match her jean shorts. Her hair was braided at the bottom but the rest flowed freely in the wind. It was a dark brown, almost auburn hair color. For the most it seemed like her natural hair color. Her hair matched her dark complexion however her skin was maybe a tad lighter in color from her hair. Just before you could see any more details she disappeared right back into the crowd. Though unseen your eyes might be able to follow the peeks and brief moments she could be seen through the crowd, even with that it seemed like she was a different color from the rest, it's as if she somehow glowed and it wasn't just the sunlight that made it seem that way. She made her way through the second crowd and found herself on a less busy part of the sidewalk she was walking on. This side had tall buildings around it so there was an abundance of shade that enveloped it. Perfect for her to slow her pace and check her smart phone for any notifications she thought. She reached into her back pocket and produced her from from it. Then she quickly browsed through it, checking her social media accounts and email. Upon her check up she noticed an email with the subject simply titled "Hey". She allowed a puzzled expression to form on her face and curiously clicked on the email to view more. Upon the email expanding and revealing the contents she scanned the first paragraph that seemed to be explicitly for her. It went on to even use her real name, which she never provided to the sender. The message read as follows: Code: "Hey Aiyana! It's me Chad! Chad Garner, your know, Big Bad Chad? I'm back in town and thought I'd say what's up! We haven't seen each other in so long so why not catch up huh? I'm staying at this awesome hotel right next to Slater's Steak House and was wondering if maybe you'd like to join me for dinner there? How's 7pm sound? Hit me back if you're interested! Here's my number just in case you deleted it or whatever 558-xxx-xxx." After reading the message she stopped in her tracks and stood there in wonderment. "Who was this Chad guy?", "How did he know her name?" "and how is it that he knew where she was at the moment?" Confused and downright scared stiff, she deleted the email in one swift flick of her thumb and locked her phone. She observed her surroundings and scanned crowds of people for anything suspicious but it revealed nothing. She went on to walk straight, still looking off to her side and behind her, when suddenly she bumped into a tall figure with a loud thump. Pushed back and almost knocked off her feet, she faced forward with the intention of apologizing when the figure called out her name. "Aiyana?" , voice seemed to blurt out in confusion. "Aiyana Locklear?! Is that you?" , the man exclaimed. Aiyana froze up and her eyes widened as they climbed up to view the voice's face. They revealed a rugged man who had a dark 5 o'clock shadow and bright blue eyes. His hair was combed back, blonde and contained gel to keep it styled. His jawline were easily visible even if she weren't so close to him at the moment. He offered her a hand and smiled widely. He then went on to say, "It's me, Chad." ...to be continued.
