πΈπ₯° Hey everyone! π So, Iβve been thinking a lot about how exciting it would be to bring Avatar Trading back β but with a fresh twist that keeps it fair, fun, and balanced for everyone. π‘ The Core Idea: Instead of unlimited trading, what if ATA hosted rotating βAvatar Trade Windowsβ β short surprise events where players can trade selected avatars within specific themes or categories? For example: π This month (10thβ13th): Only male & female hunt avatars are tradable! π Next month (1stβ3rd): Only box and shard avatars are tradable. πΈ Later (20thβ23rd): Only avatars released between 2020β2023 are tradable. Each βwindowβ could appear randomly (like surprise limited events), keeping things fresh and exciting β players could even try to guess the next one! π° To Keep It Fair: A small EC trade fee (just a few ECs) could be added per avatar traded. This would keep the in-game economy healthy while preventing spam or exploit trades β all without making it feel pay-to-win. π Why It Could Work: Revives old avatars without devaluing exclusives. Keeps trading controlled, rewarding, and balanced. Re-engages both older and newer players. Adds a fun element of surprise every month (especially around holidays or events). Encourages collaboration and community guessing! π¬ What do you guys think? Would you love to see a system like this β where Avatar Trading returns, but in themed, limited-time windows? And if so, what kind of trade themes would you love to see? (Seasonal? Year-based? Hunt-only?) > βATA has actually passed this idea to their design team already π, but I wanted to share it here too and see how the community feels about it!β Letβs discuss β I think this could be the perfect middle ground between nostalgia and innovation πβ¨
I'm actually in favor of avatar trading. In fact, I believe that all box avatars should be tradeable, especially the ones in hunt boxes. However, once they've been opened- I think that is when they should be locked on to an account. I can also understand the argument for not allowing champagne box/webstore green box avatars to be traded. PIMD has mentioned difficulty in the trading of avatars before, understandable. But they have clearly figured out a way to trade boxes atp. This would allow avatars to occasionally resurge at points in the future, especially if only opened for specific windows as suggested, without the acknowledged devaluation. I don't know how I feel about allowing non-boxed/unboxed avatars to be traded. Off hand, I don't really like it.
Hi! π I completely understand what you mean! π Thatβs actually why I thought rotating trading themes monthly (or during special events) could be a good balance β so itβs not always the same category getting attention. For example, one window could allow hunt box avis, another could focus on past-year or seasonal ones, and maybe another could even test limited champagne/webstore trades in a controlled way. That way, everyone has something to look forward to at different times, without overwhelming the economy or devaluing anything. The idea isnβt to make everything instantly tradeable, but to create occasional, themed opportunities that add surprise, excitement, and community engagement β something fun for both collectors and newer players alike π
hi π Iβm just tagging a few players that could be interested to read about this suggestion @Dev @Morningstar_T_A_2311 @Winterborn @Witchee @Lumi @LeeJarrett @DonRainier @Yumeji @Yuzu @Muschi @Vice @JustGooseBumps @Cocoa @CocoPuff
I understood the suggestion. I just dont agree that items earned with the understanding that they are limited time and permanently adhered to an account should have their policy suddenly changed. I also understand the coding issue ATA has already given as to why avatars already attached to an account is difficult to change. I believe that new/newer avatars already released in box form or simply those released in a box moving forward should be the only ones eligible to be traded during certain windows.
This imo, would definitely increase Game Engagement. Though for casual players, it might be a problem if you take ECs for this. It might kill the market completely, leading to reduced supply or inflated rates to counter the EC costs. May I instead suggest a small Tax sort of thing that takes maybe Money or Chibis from them? Or something else? Y'all are the experts this is just from my perspective π
