Sorry to tell you this but people should be normally prepared if living in an earthquake zone. I'm glad you and your family are doing good.
Melnik, but earthquakes can happen randomly and very suddenly. There are no specific ways to identify an earthquake excrept for small tremors that start early, or reporters on TV, but other than that, people don't usually buy some sort of special basement room just for earthquakes except for places that have them often like China.
@Cheeky Yea, earthquakes can happen randomly, but you can know which zones in the earth receive them. In addition there is technology to identify them amd thirdly, going into a basement when earthquake its the worst thing you can do.
Hey Hill How strong was it? And what was the damage report if they still have one. I'm glad you're ok and I hope my family is as lucky as yours
I'm glad you're okay Hill and Your Family. I never experienced an earthquake before , I live in a place where there are never earthquakes, and floods . But I live somewhat close to a river (I can't say what the river is called can I? ) But I believe that the river is getting bigger and could flood towns near it. Luckily my town isn't that close to it because we are like on a Cliff. Well anyway Glad you and your family are okay Hill and Yes we do need to be prepared . I guess even if it never happens where I live , just in case.
Never thought of it. ._. Basement as in some sort of room dug from the earth... get what I mean? And if you're asking about the Island, it's Macau. It's at the south of China and is close neighbors to Hong Kong. We're the same actually, we have our own government and it's like a miniature SAR. We have pretty famous people living here too, such as cheated company owner's ancestors and horribly disfigured male actors. But we're hardly known for anything except the bungey jumping. And tenth tallest tower in the world. ... Sounds like I'm advertising. xP Anyway, we're surrounded by water. Tsunamis can't affect us either. I forgot the reason, but it has something to do with the weather and climate I presume.
Yea i get it, but still is the worse thing you can do. When earthquakes you have to go out by any means. If you into the basement and your house collapses you are stuck down there w/o the possibility of going out and thats bad. You might get no oxygenin the worst case for example and if you get to survive the earthquake in your basement, the celling can collapse.
@Hill, You lived through a P-Wave, S-Wave and a Surface Wave. Even though the 3rd wave was slow, it's the most deadly.
Out of all the Natural diseaters what do you think is the worst of them all causes most damage and lives
Neuclear Radiation. It's deadly. It's also an aftermath of Nature's weapons, so it can be considered one, right? Look at Japan. Bless it...
