______________________________ Emmanuel nodded. "Yes." "But, how?" "Well, you know that the Archangel Raziel was believed to have been seated so close to God that he knew all the secrets of the universe, right?" He asked. "Right." "And that he made a book containing all these secrets, which, he then gave to mankind. One of those people being Moses, right?" "Right." "Well, according to Ithuriel, Raziel gave the book to all those whom he thought was deserving of such knowledge. Moses, was one of them and apparently so was this girls great ancestor." "So your saying, she has the book." Dylan implied "No, I'm saying that the information is locked away in her head, and that it's been passed down throughout the generations." Emmanuel corrected. "So, why should we care?" "Ugh, because if that kind of Knowledge is in the wrong hands, then we are all dead, we won't stand a chance." "A chance against what?" "Let's just say that, instead of fighting demons and dark angels, we'd be fighting immortal demons, or immortal dark angels." "So, it all comes down to the endless battle of Good and Evil." "Exactly, and you know just as well as I, who will be sent to retrieve it." Dylan's face grew grim, and filled with rage. His voice sounded like honey running over ice. "Elijah Fang." The reply in return was just a simple nod. "It's finally happened Brother, the war has finally arrived on Earth." Emmanuel proclaimed, looking up towards the heavens. Dylan turned around to leave, but, turned back to Emmanuel. "This girl, you'd see to it personally that she was safe?" "Yes." He said steadily. "Just be careful brother, beautiful girls have always been your weak point, don't fall for her." Emmanuel's look of absolute pain shocked Dylan. "And if I already have?" "Then God help us all." With that, he vanished, gone. Emmanuel didn't doubt that he had gone to heaven to proclaim the news. He turned back to his training dummy, and for the first time in what seemed a very, very long time, his mind was clear. He picked up his blindfold and put it back on, picking up his weapons, he no longer felt their weight. They were apart of him, one with him. His mind was empty, his thoughts, non existent. The only thing he focused on was his breathing. He could feel the power surging through his veins, and it felt good. He visualized each and every one if his muscles, he flexed them and felt each and every tendon and ligament work. He was ready. Aligning himself with the training dummy, he let all fears and troubles go. He took in a few deep breaths, once he was sure he was calm and centered, he got into a stance. This was who he was, he was a Fighter, a Warrior, an Angel. Finally, he was ready. He let his instincts take over, and the Good Lord knows, they did. ______________________________

______________________________ Fourteen days, Emmanuel hadn't been to school in fourteen days. Was it because of her? Did she do something? All she did was ogle at him and say his name. Was that really so bad? The day of the incident she went to the hospital, apparently she fainted, she can't even remember. Although, it turns out she had a nasty head injury, which was painful for a few days, but, now it was fine and she had returned to school to find that he wasn't even there. She felt hurt, then again, why should she let this stupid boy get the better of her? But, still, two weeks? "Hello, Earth to Elizabeth!" Amber said impatiently. "What? Oh, sorry I was, thinking." she replied sheepishly. They where in the cafeteria, sitting at the same spot they always sat at, the place where she saw him. Amber was munching away on a chicken salad, whereas Elizabeth had hardly touched her peanut butter sandwich. "Really, Liz, just let him go. He probably had a panic attack, then got transferred to another school, or something like that anyway." she exclaimed, spilling salad all over the table. "Oh crap!" she went to grab some napkins from the counter on the other side of the cafeteria, and was held up by her history teacher. "She's a real Calamity Jane, don't you think?" Chimed a soft, smooth voice behind her. She turned around to see him, Emmanuel, standing behind her, tray in one hand, books in the other, tucked under his arm. "Ah, I, yeah she's clumsy alright" she said, trying to hide her emotion, she felt flustered again. He was wearing dark blue jeans almost black with leather shoes. His light grey sweater clung to his body, he filled it out nicely, his sleeves were rolled up. He probably felt casual, yet, he looked like he was going clubbing. His eyes were still the same as last time. Black, although, they had more gold in them this time. She realized she was staring, and so was he. He probably thought she was demented, because she just kept staring at him. She snapped out of her trance before addressing him. "You, can sit here if you want" she said clearing her throat. She shuffled over to the next seat. "Thanks." he said, sitting down and putting his books to one side. They were only a few inches away from each other, yet, she could feel his body giving off an intense spark. "My names Emmanuel. I'd like to apologize for the other day. I was, not myself." He said. His voice was soft and musical, like the sound of a harp being played to lullaby a child. Her eyes fluttered, he was so different, not like other boys. He blinked, waiting for a reply, his eyelashes where long, the kind girls would sell their soul for. "Ah, yeah, neither was I. So, I guess I'm sorry too." She said. "Well, since we're both sorry, why don't we just forget about it? He said cooly, like a line delivered by a skilled actor. "We can start a new. My names Emmanuel, what's yours?" he asked. "Elizabeth, Elizabeth Rosewater." she said, her voice sounded dull and boring compared to his, she scolded herself for this. "Elizabeth Rosewater." He let the words play over his lips. "Nice name." he said to himself. "Ah, Elizabeth, mind introducing me to your new friend?" Amber said with a smile. she just came back from talking with her teacher. She began wiping the mess away with the napkins before throwing them at the bin, missing most of them. "Oh, Um, well Amber this is Emmanuel" she sad pointing to him. "Emmanuel this is Amber" "Hey." Amber said, ogling at him while she spoke. "Hey." his voice was distant, he was more focused on Elizabeth than anything else. Amber could see this, so, she packed up her things and made off to leave. "I'll leave you two to it then." She said briskly before walking off quickly. He turned to her, curiosity written all over his face. "Is she always like that?" he asked. "No, I think it's just the effect you have on people." she said to herself. "Your too mesmerizing." Only then, did she realize that she said this out loud, and wide eyed turn to see his expression. He laughed, not a quick abrupt laugh, no, a soft melodic laugh. She felt flustered again. "Well, thank you." He said, trying to hide a smile. Embarrassed, she looked away only to find the cafeteria nearly empty. She hadn't realized that the bell had gone. "Crap, I'm going to be late!" she said with worry in her voice. She fumbled around for her things and quickly got up to leave. While walking away she said "I'm sorry, I have to go. I'm gonna be late." he was already next to her, books under his arms, smile on his face. "We've got the same class next. Music, right?" "Yeah. I didn't know you took music?" "Yeah, it's, my favorite actually." She said nothing at this, she just kept walking. He walked next to her, they were close, a little to close. Strangely enough she didn't mind, and they eventually found the music room, they had just made it in time. The rest of the day went on fine, great in fact. Emmanuel could play the piano like a star, and it turns out he took French too. He kept helping her and telling her what to say when the teacher asked her a question she didn't know the answer to. Sadly enough the day came to and end, walking to the car park next to Emmanuel, she felt, safe. However, she began to veer off into another direction, towards Amber's Yaris. "I have to go, Amber's waiting." she said softly, disappointment evident in her voice. "I can give you a lift if you want." He suggested. She thought about it for a second, Amber would be sad she ditched her. She can always text her some excuse, maybe, if she threw in the words "hot guy" she'd get off easy. Smirking she sent Amber a quick text message. Looking up, she saw Emmanuel waiting patiently for her response.Taking in a steady breath she asked "So, where's your car?" ______________________________
